This allows believers to persevere without having to back track on their belief that their child has been poisoned by the sinister activities of governments and corporations from whom compensation could and should be claimed. It also re-locates responsibility for their child's autism outside the family, in the Great Elsewhere.

I definetely agree with you on the 'mutated theory' Stella. When one fact is proven wrong, they evolve their argument so they are still seeming to have a point of argument, and then barrage people with the new mutated theory.

Its a pretty nasty ploy and helps no-one, least of all their kids.

Its like a chinese whisper. I saw one NT parent post on a forum that a study was done of mothers who had stress during pregnancy, and the study found that 100% of the mothers went on to give birth to an autistic child.
Quite absurd that 100% were autistic. It turned out that she was completely and utterly wrong, but she had picked up the nonsense 'fact' and repeated it to others.
