They asked me if I was an artist
and I said yes and no.
That was confusing.
They wanted drawings, photographs, grand illustrations of magnificent events.
They wanted power, emotion, passion.
That was true art, they said.
I told them I tried that put that in my work
and that confused them even more.
They wanted to know how I did it,
and I said I could
paint
with
words.
"You're crazy" they said.
You can't paint with words.
You can't portray a mighty battle with words.
You would never be able to show
The angerfearEXPLOSIONSpassionprideWARchaospanicBLOOD
tears
loss
despair
Heroes.
You could never give heroes
all the glory they deserved,
using just words on a piece of paper.
You could never show how they
gave hope to the people
triumphed over adversity
conquered evil
fought like gods to save what was honorable and true.
words are just scribbles,
forgotten in two seconds.
a picture is worth a thousand words, they once said.
You could never show the silence,
show the tension that everyone feels when some thing big is near,
You would never feel afraid
as the clock ticks...
slowly...
gradually...
until we reach the end.
and I said yes and no.
