Evaluation ordered for Mom accused of attempted murder
Associated Press.
ALEXANDRIA, La. A federal magistrate has ordered a psychological evaluation for a Fort Polk soldier's wife arrested for the attempted murder of her two children.
Thirty-two-year-old Kelli Ann Spaulding is being held in the Rapides Parish jail.
She was arrested for giving her two children excessive doses of Chlonidine (klohn-uh-dyne), an anti-hypertension drug, which her autistic son was routinely taking -- but not her daughter.
Medical authorities said the drugs could have killed the children.
Spaulding's mother testified yesterday that she would care for her daughter if she is later released into her custody.
The two children are now in foster care.
