Who is funding the research? a drug company?
I think many children are being diagnosed because they have different learning styles. The main learning style that is used in schools is auditory learning. I am more a visual learner and I survived school. There are other learning styles as well but auditory learning is just the cheapest and easiest for classrooms with 20 or more students.
When the children do not fit the mould of auditory learning, they are labelled and medicated. It is just becoming so ridiculous. My brother is a teacher and these little kids are constantly being evaluated for their "time management skills" and being "on target with their work". That is because the government has changed the focus of education from just education to "training future workers". They might as well start cloning little robots.
People would be better off homeschooling. If I had any children, I would immediately remove them from the school system and homeschool if possible.
