We've all seen rumors about the upcoming 7th Harry Potter book circulating the internet. This is one of them, started my me (unless someone else thought it up first, of course).

My theorie is that Voldemort didn't intend to KILL Harry, but created the scar to use as a Horcrux once Harry's parents had been murdered. Since they lived at Godric Hollow, prehaps he thought that they had something to do with Godric Gryffindor. Mabye that was his interpretation of the Prophecy?
I suppose that would be clever, making who he thought was the only one who could defeat him have to destroy his head and, thus, kill himself to be able to defeat him.

What do you think?

(Horcruxes - http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horcrux )[/i]
Well, this theory has been going around since the book came out, although most people think Harry, not just his scar, is the horcrux.
I say it's a definite possibility. Everyone knows Rowling has been sick of writing the series since the fourth book, and if she doesn't kill him off, there will be pressure to continue the series.

Also, I've heard a theory that Snape didn't really betray Dumbledore, and that his death was faked. Just before Snape "killed" Dumbledore, they looked into each others eyes, which is the requirement for Legilimency. Dumbledore could very well have told Snape to cast the spell that "killed" him.
Could you please not put potential spoilers in topic titles?  :?
Ok, I won't mention that Titanic sinks at the end, that Spiderman defeats the bad guy, that Snow White survives and marries the Prince, and Wile.E.Coyote NEVER catches Road Runner.
Yeah, but the scar being a horcrux is more likely. His scar burning has something to do with Voldemort because the Horcrux is also him. There's probably something do to with Harry's blood in him too.
Here's my theory.  I don't claim it's original; my mind may have dredged up something I once heard somewhere else.  But here goes anyway:

A single theme, if consistently applied, gives the answer to each of the following questions:

(1) Whose side is Snape really on?

(2) What is the final horcrux?

(3) Where will the final battle occur?

(4)
Will Harry survive?

The unifying theme is that the answer to each of these questions is foreshadowed in the very first book of the series.  Think about it.  The books are riddled with foreshadowing.  It is highly plausible -- almost to be expected, really -- that events in the first book should foreshadow the end of the series.

(1) Whose side is Snape on?  In the first book, when it appeared that Snape was trying to kill Harry, he was actually saving his life.  Foreshadowing.

(2) What is the final horcrux? Harry's scar.  There has been much discussion on this point, and this idea is certainly not original.  But think back to Professor Quirrell.  I mean, doesn't it seem rather silly to have had Voldemort hiding on the back of Quirrell's head, under a turban or whatever, for an entire year, inside Hogwarts? Perhaps it makes more sense, though, if that was a device to foreshadow the notion that Voldemort can invade someone's brain, and not be recognized -- even right under Dumbledore's own nose.  Part of Voldemort has been inside Harry all along.

(3) Where will the final battle occur? Inside Harry.  Literally.  See point 2.

(4) Will Harry survive? Recall the title of the very first chapter: "The Boy Who Lived."

Unfortunately, I cannot see how this theme answers the question whether Dumbledore is still alive.  Perhaps someone else will.  I suspect he is still alive, though.  See http://www.dumbledoreisnotdead.com.

BTW, anyone else think Snape might be an Aspie?
If you recal there are two people the prophocy could pretain to, I would love to see it twith that the "entire" wizarding comunity is wrong.

As a side note.  In book six.  Can anyone think of what the rude gesture they make is.  (I can only think of the "one finger solute", but I desprately do not want it to be that bad.)
