What do you think about the new James Bond actor Daniel Craig?

I saw him in Layer Cake and he delivered a very good performance.  I think the film makers were wrong to get rid of Pierce Brosnan but have made a good appointment in Craig.
I've not been a fan of recent Bond films anyway.

It's all shooting and blow em away. It's not a spy thriller at all, spies are meant to be all covert ops, not running about making large explosions and shooting people. Only way to majke it less spy-ish would be for him to rip off his shirt, strap on a bandolier and bandana, and pull out an RPG.

One of the original Bond novels, wasn't even written about Bond specifically, but rather it was from the female character's perspective who runs into this gentleman who turns out to be "Mr Bond" and gets caught up in the story.

Hopefully going for a darker grittier actor will lend to darker grittier stories (Check out the latest Batman film, I thought that was a fair improvement on the old formula)
