AB+ I think. The only time I ever got my blood tested was in high school, as part of a classmate's science project; the test was at least 40 years old, so it might not have been accurate any more. Do those things go bad?

No, those things do not go bad.

Oh, and since this is mainly about the pos/neg thing, my husband (self-diagnosed aspie) and brother (officially diagnosed PDD-NOS) are both positive also, but not sure what (except that they're not O). All three of us are caucasian as well.

O+ and i am Half Latin-Caucasic personally i found this neanderthal theory interesting because me and my brother are the only members of the family who have caucasic grandparents from mom and dad both

but my brother is very Nt Tongue
A---neg of Anglo Celtic descent---Viking blood.

Apparently this group is most commonly found in Norway, Denmark, Austria and Armenia.

I am 0-     I think my Aspie teen is too.

My grandmother was 0- and lost two baby boys because of it (tragic). Her first, my aunt, and my mom, escaped the ravages of Minnie's immune system fortunately.

I have read that book on blood types and am a little skeptical, but I do seem to have a slight sensitivity to both dairy and wheat, which they say is typical of 0s.....

I can also eat a lot of steak and not have cramps- another supposedly 0 quality. We need meat apparently.

I could have had the same problems, but it would seem that my children must be neg.

I haven't seen the book, but am interested.

I was lucky because in the UK all newly-delivered babies of Rhesus Negative mothers have their blood group tested and, if they are Rhesus positive, mum gets a shot of antibodies ("Anti-D") to mop up any of junior's blood cells in her system before her immune system gets a chance to kick in. However, this is only partially successful as each successive pregnancy still incurs risk (my babies were being born earlier and earlier). Fortunately in my last pregnancy both babies were Rhesus negative, but they were still six weeks early.

I had anibodies/anti-D as well.

One thing that annoyed me about this anti-D, was that my EX is O neg, I' m A neg & they still insisted upon testing me throughout  the pregnancy, so I asked if they thought I was sleeping around.... that upset them a bit.Wink

I had the anti-D shot after my first child was born, a son, in 1984. I declined the second shot after Hope was born because I knew I wouldn't have any more kids. I saved my insurance company $$$.

It's so bad in America we take our own aspirin to the hospital so as not to be charged $1 apiece for them! Sad

Does theese blood-types combine so that you dont have to use anti-D?

If a RH neg has a baby with an Rh positive man, the RH neg mother's antibodies try to kill the baby (usually second baby).

If two people who are RH neg have a baby there is no problem, the actual blood group doesn't matter only the RH factor.

I have heard of a lot of this before, but it's hard to believe that a wealthy country treats it's citizens in this way.
I think it's a disgrace.

I'm 0-.

I've been tallying up responses trying to spot a trend, even though we're probably too small a sample size to be meaningful... (Please bear with me, numbers are NOT my strong point)

For Aspie/Autistic/Cousin respondants:
Negatives:
0 12
A 5
? 3

Positives
0 13
A 4
AB 1
B 2
? 1
Thanks for the charts, they are very interesting.
Im an 0 - and my son is 0 +

0 negatives are known as the universal donors because other blood groups are able to accept our blood in transfusions which is WHY 0- are asked to give blood.
