Oh brother...what next?

Why is it so hard for anyone to accept that maybe we are simply born this way and there is no cure for having an inherently different type of personality than that of the default?

Autism is caused by ignorance. To cure autism one only needs to cure ignorance.  The most popular cure for ignorance is hitting or smacking someone in the head with a heavy blunt object.

These people are the gary spiveys of the medical world.....
I see a chiropractor twice a week, because my back vertebra go out of alignment due to tension and spasms in my back muscles. My neck vertebra also need adjusting, same reason.

Obviously, those adjustments have not cured me of my autism or anything else, but they help me manage.

Now, when a severely misaligned vertebra in the neck pinches a vital nerve, it is possible to get symptoms similar to autism. In such a case, the kid could be cured of those symptoms. But of course, that would be an extremely rare, isolated case. For this woman to claim that she can cure all autistic children is ridiculous nonsense.

I can believe that most autistic people (as almost all NTs as well) have neck tension, and that chiropractic care will help. That's just good care of your back and won't cure autism. But it will improve your overall health.

So, some of her claims are true, and some are totally false. This kind of person is the most dangerous of all. Because when you mix truth and lies with each other, it's often hard to sort out what part is true, and which is the lie. And people who see the true part will be deceived and overlook the lies.
 ROLFLMAO!!! This article is so surreal, it's like she's living in a parallel world. So she has come to the conclusion that neck tension causes autism, ADD and ADHD? Has it even crossed her mind that the stress associated with having these conditions would be the cause of neck tension, which in turn would aggravate behaviour?

Luckily, nobody will take this seriously, and it won't cause anyone any harm if they do. I certainly wouldn't say no to a good neck massage.

Well, it won't cause bodily harm, but it could cost people a lot of money. And a lot of people are foolish enough to believe anything.

Oh sure, I get a lot of neck tension but it hasn't caused my autism. I put it down to having somewhat bad posture but mostly to having many difficulties in expressing anger.
I once met a chiropactor who claimed that children's chronic ear infections could be cured by correcting spinal alignment.  The ear infections are caused by bacteria in the ear?  But could a misalignment of the spine cause inflamation and that swelling block the eustian tubes?????   I can not dismiss some theories that on the surface seem weird.

Ear candling is weird.  I do not  understand how that could work and I would not try that at home.

I often get sinus headaches and other types of headaches due to allergies.  I wonder what actually causes headaches.   Is my brain actually swelling?  What is causing it?

Stress  -  the big one.  I actually had one boss tell me that stress was a good thing when I claimed that my workload had been increased so much I could not handle it.

It is true, chiropractic adjustments can heal (or help heal) ear infections, it has been well proven. Or rather, as my chiropractor says, when you allow the nerves to function as they should, your body is able to heal itself.

But of course, since autism is not an illness, there isn't anything that will 'cure' it.

I'm skeptical about chiropractic medicine curing ear infections, but I can see that combining that treatment with antibiotics would work, since most ear infections are caused by bacteria.
I have a bad neck and shoulder from my Epilepsy seizures, and going to the chiropractor only made it feel worse.

You might have gone to a bad chiropractor, you know, as in every profession, there are some that are terrible. My first chiropractor was awful and made my back so much worse, that I swore never to set foot into a chiropractic office again.

My oldest daughter convinced me to give it another try, and her excellent chiropractor in Ottawa referred me to an amazing chiropractor, who has helped me tremendeously.

Actually, at least half the ear infections are caused by a virus, and antibiotics won't help those at all. There have been studies done on the effectiveness of antibiotics with ear infections, and doctors had to admit that ear infections clear up in the same amount of time with or without antibiotics, meaning that antibiotics are totally useless for ear infections. Not only that, if you don't take antibiotics, you'll end up immune to whatever caused the ear infection (meaning, you won't get one after another, like many little kids), which is usually the end of that cycle (and the kid won't end up with tubes, which are also harmful and often cause hearing loss).

Whenever anybody in this family gets an ear infection, we'll go to the chiropractor, and buy ear drops at the health food store, which work great (there are different kinds, but they all work, I use the kind with garlic, which has antibiotic properties).

That is very interesting about ear aches and garlic drops.   My MIL claims that practicing yoga cured her asthma.  I think breathing excercises do help.

Maybe the only cure for autism is a brain transplant.  Any doctor that suggests that has to have been the donor.  Anyone else who suggests it, well I don't want their brain either.
