Allas, I'm in cheshire, but I commute to manchester daily anyway, so an extra day wouldn't do any harm.

I cant say I thought much of aspirations, went around with them a couple of times, and fucked it off completely, I'm still a member, apparently, but I only really went there in the first place because of an AS friend, who I knew through an NT friend.
And as for stretford, watch your ass round there, I have to attend probation at the stretford office, and theres been several times I've had to cave in some heads, its chav central round there, full of pricks.
The entire setup was a little....condescending, to say the least.
But yeah, I'm in greater manchester, if anyone stil checks this thread.

As someone who has lived in Stretford for the past 22 years,I disagree that it is chav central,Old Trafford,Hulme etc have a higher number of scallies and worse problems with their abuse/violence.
However,the area of Stretford that the Probation office is in [and near] does have a large amount of scallies [i've been attacked and abused there by the same gang several times],some parts of Stretford are scally free.
The area of Stretford where the Aspirations house is,is a nice area,it's more upmarket than around/near Lacy Street.

Hi I'm really interested if anyone else is up for a meet up. I'm in South Manchester. I'm 26 and have only known that I have AS for 2 months.
I still have never (knowingly) met anyone with AS. I tried to join Aspirations but I just haven't got round to going as I'm not sure it's for me.

a good place to go is The Basement in manchester on a friday night (around 430 till late), as I'm usualy there, if you feel a bit threatened by Stretford or just can't be bothered.
Its a "freespace" in manchester, with free net connection and linux machines that not oly tolerates oddballs like ourselves, but is FILLED with people almost as mad (or sane) as ourselves....

hi,im in manchester,i havent got aspergers but im almost certain my brother has so i came on here to learn more about it and at the moment hes started the long process of trying to get a diagnosis,so there are a few from manny now :smile:
