Velvet ears fly in the wind
Cold steel beneath his feet
Claws clatter as he goes down
With a smile that can’t be beat
Kids gather round with looks of awe
As my puppy has his fun
Up the stairs and down the slide
With dog and toy as one.
Great black eyes glitter bright
Over smile and lolling tongue
His joy is clear, no sadness here
Just a puppy and his fun
And so I watch as he goes down
Time and time again
Cream colored ears behind him
Tail wagging in the wind.
It’s a wind created by his joy
As he cuts the air, descending.
Nothing’s there but me and him
And the slide, smooth and unending.
And then my brother comes and sees
My “Baby Dog” at play
And his eyes smile to see the trick
We taught him, one spring day.
My Baby Dog is gone now,
To where dogs can run all day
But in my mind’s the memory
Of a slide on a summer day.
Hi Raelara, what was the cold steel beneath the puppys feet?
the slide.  We taught him to go down the metal slide at the park (before they changed it to one of the plastic toys).  It has been more than ten years since I had that dog.
Ok, who is your OB?
Actually, I don't see him anymore because I have since married and moved.  The sad thing is that I am not even remembering his name right now.  The reason he "diagnosed" me in the first place was because he and my mother were talking about me and he thought my mother's comments about me sounded a lot like things his daughter would do.  If I remember his name, I will let you know.
I just meant what does OB mean?
Obstetrician/Gynecologist
