Thats what I thought.

But obviously not, to people at my college at least.

I try to be funny all the time and nobody laughs. But whenever I try to be serious I always end up inadvertantly saying something hilarious.

Once at college I said something to the class that accidentally was (apparantly) a sexual innuendo, The lesson had to be abandoned because what I said was so funny that the teacher couldn't stop laughing.
I still haven't got it. I was trying to tell them not to stick thier hand in bushes because whenever I do it I always get attacked by bugs.

OK I hope you don't find me rude but...
Bush is a metaphore for genital areas. derived from the fact that they have pubic hairs slang has a word: bush. Bugs can have, when associated with genital areas, the meaning of bugs that you can catch while having sex or being intimate with a person that has these bugs...I'm not english so I can't recall their names...
So in metaphore NT world what your class also understood for benefit of a laugh was:
Don't stick your hand in genital areas because whenever I (you in that case bob) do it I always get attacked by bugs...

why is it funny? Because sometimes we say things meaning one thing and the fact that the same exact words can mean something TOTALLY different than what we're saying without realizing is funny for us...
I giggled when I read that sorry...

because not everything has to be explained, understood and reasonable?
Thanks ASira!

I get it now.

I always knew I was a comedic genius.

My comment was regarding this

Aspies may be difficult to understand sometimes - but NTs are nearly impossible to understand most of the time.  The worst thing is that I don't think us NTs are aware of why we find things funny, we just "do" and when asked to explain why we are laughing, we can't put it into words right away.

What I mean is not everything has to be explained or have a reason in context of EVERYONE, regarding if they are Nt or AS... he said we NTs just find things funny without understanding why... and I believe personally I don't need to understanbd why I laugh sometimes it's a mechanical reaction and not everyone (NT) laughs at the same I do...

It is because of this belief, that not everything has to be understood that I actually understand when my AS partner says things... I don't get it but I am flexible to try because the fact i dont get something doest mean it's not real and sensible.

I meant patronising... thou I think it may be a misunderstanding

sorry

I thought you meant patronising.

And the answer is no. I found you genuinly insightful. I'd been struggling to get that since I said it. I'd looked at it from every angle except that one.

ok cool. why did nobody tell you before? A lot of people still see sex as a tabu thou and people also find what's tabu funny...

Have a good weekend everyody!

I think they just assumed that I would get it since I said it.

I also never laugh at my own jokes because I heard once that if you do, it makes the joke unfunny, so I guess my reaction would just be typical of me to them.
Hhmm I see what you mean. Those sentences are used on you but NTs use it on each other as well!... It's called dodging explanations! Wink or being afraid to face a question or an awquard situation..awquard on themselves because it probably doesn't make you awquard at all! I just did the record of using awquard in a sentence spelled totally wrong!

I get it down to a question of "Okay, I'm completely wrong, so how and why am I completely wrong?" And then I get stonewalled with "Not everything has to be reasonable."

I see it gets to you and fair enough... But if you genuinely want to understand what they are on about try aproaching it in a less confrontational way almost as if you are interest in what they mean as in who they are throu those views...
Not that I would ever shove advise to anyone just maybe there are diferent paths to get to a direction...

I do hate predjudice and I hate unfairness... so thanks for the compliment!
