We have 6 theme parks, all ranked within the top 10 in the world. We have 3 water parks, also ranked very high up. All sorts of things, an hour and a half away from another amusement park, also in the top 10. An hour away from popular beaches, some of the more famous ones on earth(Daytona). Football(pigskin) capital of the world. Not far from Miami. Great hotels in Disney World, decent ones in Universal.

Not always busy. They're crowded sometimes, but certainly not busy. Besides, the more people there the more people see us.

It's Disney World. More people go there then any other place on earth. Kids love it, adults love it, I've always loved it. And I don't see you creating an Autistic ranking site, so the NT's will have to do. Never thought I would ever hear someone slam Disney World.

OK, I'll try to find someplace more quiet. I just went for a place people would recognize.

Universal. We also have Wet and Wild, another highly ranked water park, not mentioned because of insane crowding. There's a decent science museum in Tampa, but nothing worth traveling to. If the place isn't crowded, it probably isn't all that good. I wish I lived near museums, but the only decent ones are Mosy(science) and Dali(art, as in Salvador Dali).

It is very good, but we want regional things and it's not worth people coming from anywhere 2 hours out. It wouldn't be effective as a site.

People love science, and it's a great museum from what I remember, but people from the entire southeast(probably the section that we would want) wouldn't come all the way here at $3.00 a gallon for a science museum.

Can't have one in each state, it would require too many people.
Postscript-Great new avatar.

Yea, if this falls through we can just have parades. We don't need permission or sanction from owners, Gay Days isn't sanctioned. If they throw us out, less business for them.

I suppose.

Yes they are willing, one problem though, their interactive section has been taken down for rebuilding. So there is a lot less to do, especially for smaller children.
But won't it be rebuilt by next year?
BTW, I've been to Jodrell Bank twice, it's really cool!

Same kind of museum is here in Amsterdam (for the people not wanting to travel to the UK), it's the NeMo museum. Right in the centre, and very reachable by train from the airport... we Dutch do have a kind of a history of being open-minded about things, so why not get some Dutchies together and pull this off?

Do you think it would be a suitable place for aspies and auties of various ages to attend on APD?
Go check it out yourself!

IMO that place was just (at least the subjects were) MADE for Aspies. Although the place is rather big and it may be easy to get lost.

Update?
I've been thinking about doing something big here in NL much like APD was organised in the UK last year. I've got loads of ideas but I haven't got a clue how to work some things out with respect to the practical matters. How do you get a science museum or a venue to the point that they will help you (and not see you merely as a customer renting their halls) and how do you get real publicity, and all the technical stuff like audio, drinks and foodstuffs, and the whole legal issue with organising something public?
Can anyone (Amy or Gareth) shed some light on this matter or are there some Dutchies out there who may be able to help?
