Everyone, please read http://kerneltrap.org/node/5581 before panicking. Torvalds explains why he had to trademark the name. Also, end users won't have to pay for using Linux. It's only if you want to use "Linux" in your product name. Read the page and please don't abandon Linux because of this very reasonable development.
