A colony, maybe. A group home or a house, with maybe about 5 people tops will make no significant change. But your right, it's not just aspies. It's humans, 30 or 40 yrs ago people were willing to fight for something (remember the 60's, or the 80's Reagan era and protest for that matter?). Now people are too lazy and apethetic to care about fighting for anything. It's mind-control, ie media. Dummying society down makes people easier to control, and less resistance. If you display an intelligent thought people wanna treat you like a dork today, because the trend seems to be less intelligent than your dog, on purpose.

Anyways, these Islands that are being sold are tiny. Atolls just large enough to build a house on. I can't see even a small colony able to lived self sufficantly on one of these. out of curiousity i looked up uninhabited islands in a geography Wiki and found out that almost all the islands listed there as Uninhabited are either:
- Bird/Wildlife Sactuaries
- Used by the military
- Dormant Volcano
- Barren Rock
- Lacking in freshwater
- Frequantly visited/historic sites
- Covered by polar glaciers, or in the tundra
- Cursed
I guess all the inhabitable places in the world are inhabited. :-/

Actually from the pictures it's a very Beautiful place. Perhaps that curse link was fiction.

Hello, my name is kyle, i was diagnosed with aspergers a few days ago. I"m looking to meet new people who think a like.
anyone,
If one is to make a selfsustaining colony full of aspies, i can see at least one big problem with that. The majority of people diagnosed with aspergers disorder are male. There would be significantly more males than females. Do you see the problem in this?

If this discussion board is at all reflective of the world-at-large, there are LOTS of female aspies!

If I can offer a more practical solution for the time being, some of my writings revolve around a complex in a major city (the one in the stories was modelled upon Melbourne) that is secured against the interference of normies. It was an idea in the works, granted, but there is no better place to subvert an enemy than from within.

Above link Wrote:
The coral reef and lagoons at Palmyra are also a breeding ground for gray and blacktip reef sharks whose aggressiveness is well know throughout the Pacific and has been noted by every person who has ever ventured to the island, some with fatal consequences. Many visitors to the island found that swimming and even wading in the island’s lagoons was completely out of the question because of the large shark population and their aggressive nature. (fn1). And although an abundance of fish live on the reefs and in the lagoons, many of them are inedible and poisonous because of Ciguatera, a type of algae that grows on coral and which the fish contain in their flesh.
sounds very habitable. perhaps we could eat the sharks(I hate shark!). but anyways it is guarded by rabid evorinmentalists who wouldn't want some people disrupting the local ecosystem. I kinda agree with them I would want to be the cause of the destruction of this beutifull place. It's one of the last pacific islands to retain it's natural ecosystem.

that article is out of date, the Fullard-Leo family does not own the island anymore. it is now a nature reserve. this happened in 2000, the article you posted was from 1996.

Several international seismic stations have detected this year the characteristic acoustic signature of Tunnel Boring Machines from the neighbourhood of Palmyra Atoll, which suggests that something is afoot there.

I am going to be skeptical about this until I see the source of this.

I don't know if an island is the answer because we then stop becoming individual nuisances to the NT community and then become a political (group) one. Think of the Warsaw Ghetto and enforced collectivity in concentration camps - if they've got you together in one place, they can bomb you out of existance: one atom bomb and we're alll fried on our own bimini atoll! (It's not considered wise to put all your eggs in one basket for this reason - has the formation of Israel stopped people hating the Jews?). Integration where possible is the answer. We must prove like in The X-Men, that we are of more use to society alive than dead and that we're no different to them in our basic needs (no threat). The alternative is constant warfare and mistrust on both sides but saying how it should be pays little attention to how things are in reality and this means nothing is constant, nothing is stable because life is change.

Yeah. I'd be much more interested in...what is the word? A commune? That sort of intentional living group. A town would be cool, or even a part of town (the autie district). It wouldn't need to be exclusively NT, it would just have to be established by autistics and people who value autistics, and to somehow encapsulate autistic culture. Now THAT would be a great vacation spot!

Oops. I meant, it wouldn't have to exclude NTs, or be exclusively autistic.
