Ok, to start off, I've heard people say both America and Japan are Aspergia. You are obviously smoking crack, but I'm gonna be civil about this. We are living in a prejudice world, we are under the NT's system, we are labled, rejected, and what little notice we do get is "we must be cured", or we're stereotyped. We hafta be a certain way, just like any other "disabled" people. Or so they would like to assume.
No nation that is predominantly NT and ran by NT's is Aspergia, no nation that is designed for NTs is Aspergia. Aspergia is supposed to be designed around Aspie strengths and weaknesses, aspies are supposed to be the majority. That is what Aspergia is about. We will never reach equality within the NT world, because the disabled have far too long been held down. And we are seen as disabled (in actuality we're just different. One man might have another skin color than the next, we have a different brain).
This is the answer to aspie problems, a point of salvation, where we can go and we are the norm, and the only NT's allowed are close relatives and loved ones of an Aspergian. We need this movement, we need to liberate ourselves. Theyr not just gonna wake up one day and say "gee, we've been acting pretty ignorant about disabilities or about aspies". It's not going to happen. We need to grow some cajones and step up.
If enough aspies around the world pitch in we can buy an island some day, theyr suprisingly cheap, islands are being auctioned by governments. If we get enough people, each pitching in let say, about $10 a month, or the equivalent of (in other countries), we can do this. We hafta be the majority, we hafta show the rest of the world we can take care of ourselves, that we can build a prosperous nation on our own. Then we will earn our respect, our equality within the NT world. Everyone should stop being wusses and go for it. What is $10 a month? For equality and freedom for all future generations of aspies?
I'm trustworthy enough. Aspies need to stand united, and quit being selfish. Aspies need to realise that in a movement, and yes we do need a movement, that there is no room for childishness.
Look at other civil rights movements. Did THEY hafta question who was trustworthy enough to lead them into battle? They were united by a common bond, and they were loyal to that cause. Look at the Native Americans, the blacks, the Jews after WW2. If they had a bunch of immature, apathetic, untrustworthy losers trying to establish everything, and they refused to acknowledge the scope of their problems, and could not trust in anyone to lead them, there would be no Isreal. This is a movement, this is freedom, equality for the aspies all over the world. And we're gonna have far too much larger concerns than pettiness. For one, we'll hafta bridge lagnuage barriers, but this can be done. The early settlers in America came over speaking a plathora of languages. Most people in the world today are fluent in English, and if not English then Spanish.
It may take me some time to set up a board, but with co-operation from a cabinet of other aspies, we can set up a site, a treasury. This is imperative for the cause.
We'll need a group of people to set up this site. I can't afford a web page right now. But we need more people, we need a cabinet of aspies. We must all work together.
My name is Snake. I know that doesn't *sound* like a trustworthy name to most, but I got it because of two factors, one being that I'm a goth and I wear all black, and two being when I picked up a dead snake on a stick and carried it accross my neighborhood to give it a proper burial, as I have a soft spot for animals. I am almost 26 yrs old, and I am an aspiring activist.
As for a nuetral party, that depends on what you mean by it. There will be a legally documented and accounted treasury, there will also be safety nets put inplace of thefts, con artists, and deviants. It's about honesty, freedom, and equality. Nobody in todays world ever cares to try to make a difference, ever strives for a positive change. Because society has become dummied down but the media, and have become lazy and apethetic. This is our fight, we must depend upon as few NT's as possible.
Ok, I'll try to set up the board.
Even if they were strongly questioning who had to lead them in the other civil rights movements, they found leaders, they did what they had to do. Honestly, I don't see anyone even attempting to secure our future. I will do everything in my power to try and get some momentum behind this thing, and we will work together to make our nation safe. One man can't do it all, I can lead at the consent of the people, but one person can't build a nation. I'm asking for help, from someone, and those we agree upon should definately meet off-line in the future, spend time getting to know one another. I would say the main cabinet, including myself, should be atleast around 12 people.
Excuses seems to be like buttholes, everyone has them. But do keep in mind Rome wasn't build in a day, and America wasn't built by one man. It'll take time, teamwork, resources, and sacrifices. It is, however, for the most noble cause.

it is very hard to get aspies to show up for monthly meetings alone
forget about moving.
tho a realistic version would be to establish a house lived in and run by aspies or a small colony
Snake13, I'm doing my little bit to help people where I am but it isn't going to happen really quickly - it is an ongoing process. I don't believe in just blindly following leaders because they could be leading me into something bad.
Coincidentally enough, I was reading a book really recently about a young couple who bought a small island off Canada back in the 1950's and set about building a home there and later a tourist resort.
I don't know what all this stuff about Israel is but I wish they would all just wake up and stop fighting with each other. Sadly, that will never happen, barring some kind of miracle.

Just curious do you remember the name of the Island and all. I'm Canadian and there are a few islands on the East Coast as well as the West Coast.
Mish, I'm really sorry but I forgot and gave the book to my neigbour some time ago. It was in one of those Readers Digest condensed books. I think the Island was on the East and it was in a group of 13 or so but that might not be too much help.
If one is to make a selfsustaining colony full of aspies, i can see at least one big problem with that. The majority of people diagnosed with aspergers disorder are male. There would be significantly more males than females. Do you see the problem in this?
There is some recent research to suggest that girls with ASD may not be diagnosed as such, because their "special interests" may be of a more social nature than those of boys, and unusual quietness may be mistaken for being "shy" and more gender stereotypical than the same quietness in boys.
So far as I know, this research is still at a very early stage, but we shouldn't be surprised to see the ASD sex ratio substantially revised over the next few years.

Palmyra waste storage still not out of the question
Teburoro Tito, president of Kiribati, says there have been offers of hundreds of millions of dollars to Pacific island nations in return for the use of Palmyra atoll as a nuclear dump. But he is not changing his mind: he remains adamantly opposed to using the remote Central Pacific outpost, located approximately 1,000 miles south of Hawaii, as a storage for spent nuclear fuel and plutonium.
(459.4557) WISE Amsterdam - The Kiribati president told Hawaii Public Radio his government is continuing to vigorously protest the storage plan of KVR, a New York company which is in the process of buying Palmyra atoll from its current owners, the Fullard-Leo family of Hawaii.
Lobbyists believed to represent the company have been circulating a draft legislation in Washington that would permit storage of 200,000 tons of spent nuclear fuel and plutonium from Russia and the United States on Palmyra for 20 years or more. The plan involves filling in the atoll with betonite clay, and once land storage capacity is reached, canisters would be placed into the clay. Under current U.S. law, that scheme would need to be licensed by the (U.S.) Nuclear Regulatory Commission and would have to comply with the National Environmental Policy Act.
The proposal would also set up a trust fund for Pacific island nations, offering an initial U.S.$100 million for "economic development, education and environmental protection". But Kiribati's president "is not interested in that figure". It is a matter of choosing between a "clean life and dollars". American Samoa's Congressman Faleomavaenga Eni Hunkin has also made a speech in the U.S. House of Representatives opposing the plan.
Documents released by U.S. Senator Daniel Akaka of Hawaii contain new details of proposals to store high-level nuclear waste in the Pacific. According to these documents, Palmyra atoll was not the only island targeted for nuclear storage. Midway island and the Marshall Islands were also proposed for nuclear-waste storage by the new owners of Palmyra and their associates. Information on the activities of the new owners of Palmyra show that a group of nuclear entrepreneurs have been combing the Pacific for the past two years, searching for a home for their nuclear waste dump. A December 21, 1995, letter to the Secretary of the Navy, from the chairman of U.S. Fuel and Security (USFS), Daniel J. Murphy, requested that USFS be allowed to establish a high-level spent nuclear fuel storage facility on Midway. Fortunately, the USFS proposal was rejected and the U.S. Navy transferred operational control of Midway to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on May 22, 1996. Senator Akaka says the purchase of Palmyra was concluded only after the request for Midway was rejected by the Navy. He announced that he would introduce legislation to prohibit the Nuclear Regulatory Commission from licensing a high-level nuclear waste dump outside the 50 states of the U.S. The bill would prevent the storage of nuclear waste in any of the Pacific territories or on U.S. islands such as Midway or Palmyra. Hawaii Congressman Neil Abercrombie has introduced similar legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Several international seismic stations have detected this year the characteristic acoustic signature of Tunnel Boring Machines from the neighbourhood of Palmyra Atoll, which suggests that something is afoot there.

Plus what happens if there are major personality conflicts within the community on the island? If some people want to leave, they could be murdered or just not be able to go. I suppose you would also have this trouble on land, but it would be more accentuated on an isolated island.
