Did not know where to post this question. I need feedback.
I can tell a change in how I talk after I MstBt. I can especially notice changes in the voice of women after they engage in sexual activity. At least I think.
It is torture hearing this change. Is this autism or some other problem. Nerve or brain damage? Bad medication?
I asked this question before but I think it is more clear now that the problem is my brain not other people.
Still a virgin paranoid of sex. Actually the potential to be overwhelmed by my hearing. It feels sharp, "evil". What to do.
Adam
I...actually have no data on this. Well done, you've caught me completely flatfooted.
Yes, there is a change. Very perceptive. It works the other way as well as endorphins are released in both sexes. Plus, needless to say, I have been married for some 19 years..
I don't excatly know what you hear-- I do hope that you can manage to not think of a basic human experience as evil...
I can sense (5 senses) by smell, sight and hearing a change in sexual tension (lets call it that). A room where my husband is - the aura - can change at any time. Being tuned in to the change is fun for a married/committed/free of guilt person like me.
Pheromones, endorphins, pupil dialtion changes trigger physical changes in (some) people, blood flow and breathing etc.,
I might hypothesize that asexual people may tune out of these changes - for whatever reason.
I did not have any of these (I'll call them abilities...) until I met my husband and found my "match". (I was over 18 at the time)
I can relate to an asexual feeling, I could only "See" and yes hear (in the tones of people speaking/flirting with each other) the behaviors and look at it as chemistry and science... Luckily, I could also use my brain and realize that many times people (kids/teens ans adults) were pretending/feigning attraction and interest and going thru the motions. I found it silly and knew I would not ever act like that.
Adam, maybe you are hanging around in an overly sexed/sexualized crowd. I wonder what it would be like to be around the younger generations that (to me) seemed ruined by media and commercialized sex all the time. If I saw too much of it and too many people being messed up by it I might have ended up thinking all sex was dirty.
I think you should avoid overexposure. Perhaps you may just see a nicely blooming / natural relationship and that is not scary to think about or watch.
Well, you know, it says in some book or other that autists very often have higher pitched voices. But this is a far more likely explanation I fear.

No wonder I squeak so much hehe
Davo, let's start a mute club! if it doesn't make you blind after all, it might make us mute instead ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
BTW micgrace .. thanks for that ... useful information

Never heard about the voice thing. It doesn't compute with me.
I suppose I could speculate that some male auties/aspies might not mimic a (perhaps in some cultures) deeper voice that may perhaps attract females... and they just use their real ones. Maybe females don't speak all flowery. I wonder if any studies have been done? Seems doubtful to me.
My son when younger seemed to have an older (deeper?) sounding voice than his peers - no high pitches - pretty steady. He has a really nice voice in general now (and can sing well). I think he will sound exactly like my husband --voice range wise - as all the uncles sound like their father.
My sons voice is very much deeper than mine. His sounds like a rock crusher. Mine was like that at his age but has come up in pitch little by little as I got older.

The prosody and especially the vocal tone of speech can be unusual, with some children and adults with Asperger's syndrome having a 'flat' vocal tone that is perceived as monotonous. The speech characteristics can include problems with volume, being too loud or too quiet for the context. Speech that is too loud can be extremely irritating for family members and especially difficult for teachers who are trying to encourage less noise in the classroom. The person's speech may also be unusually high pitched or have a 'nasal' quality that is quite distinct and distracting for the listener.

Volume and pitch is definitely not a problem in this aspie family. Only problem I have with speech is my habit of reversing words, although that may have come from speaking Italian for a long stretch without speaking a word of English while I was in Italy at one time.
e.g. Yes, exactly, or exactly yes, both responses sound the same to me. I do the same thing in writing and had trouble with my thesis for the same thing so someone else checked it to make sure there was something I call, "clangers". Where I have reversed entire sentences and so on.
How I prefer to speak does come across as a foreign language to NT's sometimes, meaning I start with what I want to say and then add in the background as an afterthought rather than do the background first and then add in want I wanted to say, NT style.
My girlfriend's voice changes too, depending on what I'm doing to her at the time.
I've never found it to be much of a problem, and almost always helpful.
Some of this reminds me of orgasm synaesthesia.
Especially orgasm-colour synaesthesia.
There's a thread about orgasm-aura synaesthesia at mixsig.net/nexus .

Oh, yes, the dreaded "clangers!" I tend to reverse my words unintentionally as well, which is why I prefer the written word, which can be checked and edited as appropriate before sending it out into the world! I love the "edit" button.
As to the change in voice after sex, I suppose it depends on whether the sex was good or bad! I've never personally noticed the difference, but then I'm not that interested in conversation afterwards, just sleep!

Well, no wonder I sound like a deep-voiced girl. XD
Sometimes I wonder if I am a tranny. XD (Not that I'd mind, mind you. I like trans people. They're certainly more entertaining than the average heterosexual.)

My supervisor is exactly like that, speaks in a monotone (not that that worries me unlike a lot of NT students). I cannot tell what my voice volume is at all but I continually vary the pitch.
