What would be the worst job (for an Aspie) you could think of having?

For me, that would be substitute teaching. I've done it, and it's miserable. First, you don't know IF you are going to work on a given day, much less where, when and with whom. I like to know ahead of time what I'm going to be doing. I tried it only once with high school. I must have "sucker" written across my forehead--they tried everything on me, and succeeded. Middle school was pretty bad, too. I don't seem to command a lot of respect.  I can handle the elementary school kids okay. But then you have to interpret the teacher's instructions, and I have a way of interpreting things differently than everyone else, it seems.   Sad
Oh yeah, that would have to rate up there with the worst. <shudder>
One of the most horrible jobs for me would be working in kindergarden or school full days - having to cope with the interactions of the kids, dealing with their problems and having that sound level all around me all the day.
There is a member of another aspie forum I read who would LOVE to be on the weather channel.   Weather happens to be his obsession.

I think it would be cool to be a writer for A&E...

Politician. All that lying..

Good one!!

How about a used car salesman? Same deal with the lying--or maybe realtor.

Some taxi-drivers don't talk much so I don't think it would be the worst job ever. I think telemarketing and door to door sales would be the two worst jobs because a lot of people hate them and give them abuse.
Worst job could be working for someone who is a terrorist or criminal and you find out.
Disposal of nuclear waste would be the worst job in the world.  Some of this waste has a half-life of ten thousand years or more.
That work could have it's advantages... Just think about it; you would be able to get some nuclear waste for yourself whenever you wanted to, for your own evil purposes. (for example, you could laugh maniacally while slipping a bit into people's food)

Seriously, however, it would be far easier to list what you could find acceptable to work with than not.

OOOOOHHHHHH, the possibilities and the fantasies are bounding thru my mind.  "Revenge is a dish best served radioactive!!!"

i thought it was best served cold

Picking up dead bodies would be very bad, I think.
I still think call centre work would be the absolute pits!
