I had this e-mail from the person who organized the APD event in Brazil, it is translated from portugese -

In the first edition of the World-wide Day of the Autistic Pride, the event was a true success in Brasília/DF, capital of the Brazil.  For the morning and beginning of the afternoon there was pamphlet delivery and boarding of excessively using drivers and of highways in the main exit of Brasilia.

The chosen place was the rank of the Federal Road Policy in the Br-040/br-050 highway, exit for Belo Horizonte, São Paulo and Rio De Janeiro.  The Federal Road Policy and the Union of the Federal Road Policemen had supported the group of parents and of autistic children to take the information to the ones that had passed for alí.

The press appeared to the event and the biggest prominence was given by the Periodical of Brasilia, that dedicated to stocking page of the first notebook of the sunday edition, to inform on the action of alert information and on autism.

The great number called the attention drivers and passengers who if had identified with the theme of autism, corroborating with the thought of the organizers of the event of that the occurrence of the autism is much bigger than one imagines and of that consists of the official statisticians (1 autistic for each a thousand births).  Not rare, mothers, brothers, parents, cousins, uncles and too much relatives of autistics had been gifts in the boardings.

The event was organized by Fernando Cotta, Ana Lúcia Birth, Maria Lúcia Gonçalves, Alexandra and Elaine, all parents and relatives of autistics.  To the afternoon it had pamphlet delivery in the game between Brasiliense/DF and Corinthians/SP, in the stadium Mané Garrincha in Brasília/DF for the Brazilian Championship of Soccer of the first division, beyond panfletagem in shoppings centers of Brasilia.  The organizers had considered that they had filled the objectives fully,  reaching thousands of people regarding informing people of autism, leading information to the good part of the Brazilian society.
