Putting their collective musical powers together on one record, the likes of Beck, Eels, and the Apples in Stereo will do their part to help find a cure for autism. Being released on August 23rd by Eenie Meenie Records, Dimension Mix features an eclectic mix of musicians playing over an hour of covers and remixes of cutting-edge children’s songs by electronic artists Bruce Haack and Esther Nelson.

All of the proceeds from Dimension Mix will go to Cure Autism Now. The organization is dedicated to finding a cure to autism, a neurological disorder affecting both children and adults.

I am really surprised that Beck is doing something like this. He is eccentric in personality, and his grandfather was extremely eccentric, having seen a documentary about them, there is at least an element of aspie there.

Anyone who can, try and mail the artists, distributors, managers, anyone involved to express our distaste.

This is the record company behind it -

Damn. I'd write to these artists, if I thought they'd ever actually receive and read what I wrote.

I'm very, very disappointed - I actually have a couple of eels albums.
Do these artists necessarily know exactly what it is they are supporting or are they just doing it as a publicity stunt without really knowing the consequences of their actions?
I hope we can let them find out the consequences. I wonder if we can have some small protests outside of retailers stocking the album when it comes out. A little protest can make a lot of publicity.
I think outside the record company's office would be a better bet. A protest outside a record shop - even if it were HMV in Oxford Street - probably wouldn't get noticed by them.

I may write to the record company. They seem like a small outfit, so they would probably at least read and consider it. If that doesn't work, then maybe something a bit bigger.

Not that I'm stopping you protesting outside a record shop or anything. Go right ahead Smile
It may be only released in the USA. We will have to find out which market they are targeting.
Nicely put
