I think I am much better than the average person at reading peoples emotions, but people are always unaware of this because I rarely act on this knowledge. But I struggle a bit with body language. That thing where they say that aspies lack empathy is probably a load of rubbish, it just probably appears like that to most people. Or I might be wrong, just speaking from personal perspective.
thanks amy, from what i can gather, it is you and gareth that started this organization, and thanks for taking the initiative to do that, because i think that there are aspies and autistic people dotted around all over the place, that are very lonely because of their social differences to everyone else; and a network like this can reach out to them and make them feel part of something, and give them te oppertunity to communicate with others like them. As well as the fact that hearing these stories that a child dies from medication to try and "cure autism," women terminating their pregnancies upon finding out that their child is autistic, and parents taking their autistic children to surgeons so they can open up their heads and mess around with their brains, and just because they are going to turn out like me absoloutely horrifies and disgusts me. I believe your cause 100%

It certainly is rubbish to say we lack empathy. Besides, what's so important about empathy? As long as we are willing to consider how others feel, shouldn't that be enough?
