Help! My mom and my two brothers have been diagnosed with Neurotypical Disorder, and I highly suspect that my father and I have a mild case of it too.
CUre the Neuro Typicals now!

Well, everybody has something
I say we must find a cure to end their suffering. That'll show them who really needs a cure.
Has anyone read this really funny sites about the Neurotypical disorder??
http://isnt.autistics.org/ and
http://isnt.autistics.org/dsn-npd.html
Its the funniest thing, i couldnt stop laughing but unfortunatelly its very true.
Anyways, i just wanted to share with whoever wanted to be amused with the other side of the coin. Its super funny!
"Neurotypical individuals often assume that their experience of the world is either the only one, or the only correct one."
I might be being literal-minded here, but... In my opinion, this shouldn't be uncommon among some Aspies, as well. In fact I always thought I was quite different from most people, or special in some way. I think someone in these forums has a .sig quote that says something like that.
Indeed, we have rigid/inflexible ways and strong opinions about a lot of things, albeit just in different ways than NTs do. Ours are not tied to conformity, more to an individualism that isn't fazed by what others think or do.
As for the thing about lying; I find it necessary to lie if when I have to be like an NT (necessary to avoid friction, in many environments.) If I didn't lie, I probably wouldn't be able to be employed. Hence, the "interface" layer to emulate NT ways is something most of us develop.
Expounding on that... When I was kid, I was compulsively honest, but had to change that when everyone pointed out to me that what I was saying was "wrong." I thought I was supposed to be honest at all times! I truly believed that, for some reason. Well the NTs certainly punished me for that.
Anyone agree/disagree?

Yeah, I have a mild case of NT disorder. I have a need for reassurance and also a slight need to "belong" on some level. I also bring my emotions to the surface a bit more than most Aspies, but that's usually just online or with people I'm comfortable with. Otherwise, in most situations, I am quite emotionless.
yes, im aware of that... its really scary... my friend who is also pro-autistic told me that there's some shots they want to force into autists to "help" them have more trust, can you believe in it???
Maybe the best way to be then, is invisibly autistic. Avoid diagnosis, that way you're excluded from any kind of conspiracy, or reality, to cure us.
The best thing you can do is give up on therapy. Honest to God. I've had ten therapists and NONE of them were any good for me,
Truer words could not be spoken...
And btw my situation is quite similar. I don't want to "be like" the person the therapist wants me to be... why even go?
How bad is it that I laughed my butt off at the Online Screening Test at the site... but then took notes so I could learn the (polite NT) response choices to the question "Someone mentions your favorite hobby, astronomy. You"?
I usually see someone mentioning a favorite interest of mine as an excuse to core dump endless details. Rather like pulling the pin on a handgrenade. Ah well, it wouldn't be the first time I've learned something about human culture by listening to comedians :-)
"The people who get in our faces pressuring us to be normal are probably more likely to be NT."
But the ASpeople who are in denial about their AS and hate themselves for being AS are even more anti-AS than many/most NT's. They are like anti-black black people or anti-gay gay people. The worst.
When I told my psychiatrist about the term "Neuro typical" he was fascinated -- started googling it immediately, and told other psychiatrists and psychologists about it.
"Would you like to have to act all the time just to be accepted, or would you rather a better option of being accepted as who you are?"
Exactly, exactly, exactly. This is a fundamental question for members of any societally differentiated group. And anybody who answers "A" rather than "B" has a secondary diagnosis which I believe will be called, technically, in the upcoming DSM-V, "****** up."
we can lie but we dont do so inatedly.
oh... my... god... that is so my boyfriend.
