I found this page when I did a search on the words ASPERGER and CRITIC.  I knew the increase in AS DXs would cause some kind of backlash.  The person that wrote the article doesn't seem to believe AS is a real condition and that's it's just a recent fad.  He says some outrageous things such as parents actually WANT to have their kids DXed as AS.  He wrote a completely fictitious anecdote to support his beliefs.

If he had called it Aspergers by Donut it would have reflected better on his writings :evil:

This person is more anti-psychology than anything I think, and the increase in diagnosis of ASDs has given him a platform to sprout his ill informed rhetoric on the subject. As he says, he is not a parent, he is not a psychologist. His writing is subjective, wandering, tangential and based purely on personal opinion. He shows no understanding of ASDs, of mental disorders in general, of how the DSM IV is put together or much else, really.

Given the content of his website, you would have to ask if he has a diagnosis of AS himself and is in denial.

What I think is funny about this chap is that he discards the AS diagnosis and openly express his contempt for psychologists, yet in his fictional little story he does not hesitate to diagnose or atleast associate the mother to the child with AS, with NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) :smile:
