Writing in rhythms comes naturally to me.  This stuff is not so much poetry as just thoughts expressed metrically.

To change the world is not so hard –
It’s just that we pretend it is.
The world is just a hunk of rock
With crust and oceans in their place
And sprinkles of humanity.
On massive scales, the human race
Has proved itself quite malleable,
And – in the march of centuries –
Remarkably adaptable.
To change the world you merely need
To act upon what you believe;
To, by the strength of your resolve
Convince those sitting in the fence
To chose your side above the rest.
And should it happen that your side
Has more and stronger champions
They will prevail.  In any case
The future course of history
Is altered by what you have said
From what it would have elsewise been.
More difficult, I’ve always thought
Than changing our society
Is to take a gentleman
Or lady and to make a change
In just one single human mind
That’s set it’s course already. This
Can often seem impossible
And almost always difficult.
But harder still I’ve always found
Is changing that mind over which
You ought to have the most control –
Your own.
