I think America is in danger of fascism, or at least becoming like the Star Wars Empire.

So long as we're able to complain about how fascist the USA has become, the USA has not become very fascist.

all the major western countries are taking an alarming Orwellian bent; the recent Wire-tapping bill over the pond, the "Genetic Tissue and embryo bill" over here that makes it mandatory to abort all foetuses  with "major Genetic Defects", including Downs, ASD, and so on.

Has anyone become as bored and jaded with these flamewars as I am?

Why even bother to participate anymore?  It's all been done, most especially in the last few weeks.

The footsoldiers of a racist system are very often only "better" off than the targets by the narrowest of margins.  What happens is that an alliance is made, granting higher status to a group of the disenfranchised on some trivial grounds.  These disenfranchised now identify with their social superiors (who do not usually return the opinion) over the people with whom they should be allying, based on rational analysis of day-to-day life difficulties.

However, this sort of daffy elitism-without-actually-being-elite isn't just found among the Powers that Be.  We also see it among so-called "progressives", although it tends to backfire against the priviliged in that situation, as can happen with rich woman's feminism.

Why are people such total idiots as to think that this law was merely enacted by decree?  CONGRESS, INCLUDING MOST OF THE DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS, IS MORE RESPONSIBLE THAN IS THE PRESIDENT!  Had Congress shown even a single vertebra, this law would never have happened.  The Congress has been the willing butt-monkeys of GW Bush from the beginning--AND A DEMOCRAT MAJORITY HAS HAPPILY ROLLED OVER FOR HIM.

But the morons who infest the world are too stupid to realize this and pretend that GW Bush has enacted all the dumb laws by personal fiat.  They always absolve Congress from its responsibility.

You're still a hypocrite.  If money is so inherently evil that you must denounce it so strongly, then you must also get rid of all of yours.  Otherwise, you're nothing but a hypocrite.  The fact that you're so narcissistic that you can't stand being called out on your hypocrisy is notwithstanding.
