I think that to do that, we would have to have moderators on at all times, who had the power to ban people.

All in all, it would require a much more strong management of the forum.

I believe that EvilZakkie and couldbecousin do a great job, but they cannot be on 24/7 and have limited powers.
I personally want to see our mods with banning powers.

I'm sick of this *** at AFF.

oh I'm not disputing that they do a great job because they do

but I think they dexerve (and need) more moderating ability or employ more moderators or something lol Big Grin

Both baby, both!  More moderators, more power!

(And I was not disputing that you thought they were great either.  I just like to give them thanks as much as possible!)

by the way I know you weren't disputing that! I was just making it clear incase one of the trolls turns it around on me lol Tongue

OK, it is pretty sad that you and me BOTH are so concerned about having something turned around on either of us that we are both being so careful.  Rolleyes

Thanks for that flardox... I'm off to troll the Aut Squeeks forum... Play nicely now children, and try not to think about the responsibilities that come with running and being part of a community that's used by vulnerable often in extremis... Enjoy the world you're creating.

Give me back my dolly and you can go...Smile

So the *** am I, we are supposed to be a community, not a *** bitchfightTongue

You lot are all like a big extended family to me though anyways for all the fighting, theres the potential for an atmosphere here unlike any other.

Especially you ocampo, you have been a great help to me of late, you know why, and thanks.

No worries dude Smile

That is a good point Max.  I really believe that a temp ban after a warning is something that is acceptable.  If Gareth wants the final say, that is totally his call, right?  But the moderators could at least contain the fire.
flardox, well there you go, simple mis-understanding or cheap shot - difficult to tell in a post read on a computer screen. But the point I'm making is "managing challanging behaviour". Temp bannings for cooling off; thread locking and major tranquillisers. All have their place... Some suicidal aspie got banned from asd-forum.org.uk 'cause they thought he was a fake/troll [is s/he dead now? No-one knows]. That sort of sh!t mustn't happen - ever.
