Are there any other collectors of antiquarian books here?!?
Mostly just ones that tie into my collection of romantic antiquities which includes an 1858 volume titled "Pastor's Wedding Gift" with gilt pages.  It was presented by a pastor to couples at their wedding to instruct them on marriage. Parts are funny but much of the advice is still surprisingly relevant.  I display it with a very elaborate marriage license which has an engraving of the couple in a swan boat surrounded by cherubs.  Also, I have a a few antique bibles. Sadly, my collection is very small because i am allergic to old paper. :-(

What genre do you collect?

My collection contains mostly works on topics such as :
*) philosophy
*) politics
*) war
*) psychology
*) sociology
*) mysticism
*) local and foreign culture

The bulk of my collection is printed between 1850 and 1950. Favorite topics are war (especially the Franco-Russian war, the Japanese-Russian war, the Boer war and both world wars), political ideologies (especially ideologies like anarchism, communism, national-socialism, fascism, zionism and ecologism) and traditional culture (especially Germanic lore, the traditions of emperial Japan and Vedic lore). The oldest work in my collection is 17th century but the number of pre-1850 works in my collection is quite small due to my preference for the century that followed and the high price for books of that age.
