If there was no Weak Nuclear Force (one of the four forces in physics) it would be posible to have thousands of diffrent elements (because all six Quarks would be stable, and not just two).

One very good reason to never eat them! Any real food will go bad after a while (unless they just shrivel up and dry out).

Mich wrote about the fries.

I guess my mistake was I never saw an Echidna lay an egg!

Sadly it isn't - the echidna does too.... The platypus however is the only poisonous mammal - its venom is incredibly painful and potentially lethal to humans and it carries it in spines on its back legs. Noone knows why platypuses have this venom, but it is suspected that they use it to fend off sexual rivals.....

Coca-Cola is used in the confectionery industry to sterilize production line machinery as it is every bit as effective at killing germs as bleach. Coca-Cola tankers never need to be cleaned out for this reason. Coke is seriously scary stuff - there are microbes that can survive a mile below the surface of antarctic permafrost, or exposure to intense radiation, or even on the moon, and yet nothing can survive in Coca-Cola...... and we drink it.....

Coca Cola is also used in medical procedures for some similar kind of reason, it's actually in medical literature!  I basically live off Pepsi Max (the sugar-free Pepsi that actually tastes better than the real thing) so I'm not sure whether I should be holding out for a long life!

I found the info at the below link:

And I found out the McDonald's one when the health class I was in last quarter was showing the Super Size Me DVD. There's an outtake on there with an experiment on how long it takes for McDonald's food to mold.

Probably has the same antimicrobial type properties as honey. That's been used to treat wounds for thousands of years.

When a cat licks its nose, it is called 'flemming'. It is using it's Jacobsin's Organ, which allows it to smell things that are close by.

Cats expression their emotions with their ears and tails and are capable of 'playing' by pretending to be angry.

Wild cats do not normally 'play' with their prey like domestic cats.

A cat relies on the ability to find the curve in the neck in order to kill something, so if it can't, then it often will bite the wrong spot.
I have been told that poisonous and venomous are two seperate things.  Poisonous means that if ingested it is toxic (like a poisonous frog), while venomous means to inject toxins into the body (like a snake).  Given this difference a Platypus would technically be considered venomous.  There are four other species of mammal that are venomous...the Short-tailed Shrew (Blarina species), Water Shrew (Neomys species), Hispaniola Solenodon (Solenodon paradoxus) and Cuban Solenodon (Solenodon cubanus)...making a total of 5 poisonous/venomous mammals.

Isn't it because of the high sugar content? Like jam when it is sealed in a container, it won't grow mould.
I think that's it, Amy.

Maybe it's the acidity, too, because of the carbonation (but it's a long time since I did chemistry   )
