Well, how many times does a child tell "mum" that somebody is touching them inappropriately and they are not believed? And let's not forget that the perpetrator often either bribes the child or threatens to do something nasty to them if they tell.

Part of the reason kids are often not believed when they report abuse is that then their mum is put on the spot. She may not want to confront the father/stepfather/grandfather and if it is the male breadwinner in the family, she then has to contend with the spectre of trying to support herself and her kid/s on her own.

I know the child's welfare should be paramount, but people are often weak and lacking the ability to deal with these situations.

I don't think pornography should be made available to children - it is ugly, stupid and boring in most cases.

Well look I do not think teenagers should be able to have sex outside of a binding relantionship suach as marriage. I certaintly think that if at all marriage should be postponed for a while with exceptions.

Yea, let's tell 'em to postpone sex until marriage.  That'll stop all these teen pregnancies and STDs.

Are you kidding?  Stopping human beings(yes, teenagers are human beings) or anyone else for that matter, from exploring their sexuality is what leads to  the attitude that sex is something evil.  It's not going to even stop them from having sex in the first place.  They need education on how to prevent those problems in the first place.

For those adults on this site, I bet the vast majority of you didn't wait until you were married, so what's up with the hipocracy?  I'm sick of this culture and religion who treat sex as something that anything other than healthy and normal.  No wonder these kids are so ignorant when it comes to their bodies and emotions.

Oh, and is the guy who made that derogatory comment about Aspies in second grade?  For god's sake, that is the same thing I was called by classmates.....in elementary school.

First of all

If I am the adult . It is not hipocracy at all . As an adult I have right to make rules for anyone who is not adult under my responsibility to make rules and enforce that I did not follow or have

We can make rules all you want but the fact is that teenagers do have minds of their own and most likely, they will engage in some sort of activity before they're 18.  Yes, we would love if they waited until they got older but reality is otherwise.  You can, however, provide guidance to your children on issues regarding relationships but the bottom line is they will do what they want to do.  And because of that, you have to make sure that they know the means to prevent STDs and pregnancy.

And by the way, I don't appreciate being accused of "pushing" underaged sex.  I am pointing out what already is going on and has always been going on.  And that's the problem.  We deny and deny until one of these kids gets in trouble because we're not comfortable with the subject.

Only one person said that teens should wiat until marriage to have sex, so how does that make all adults on this site hippocrites? :?

Did I say "all", hmm, did I?  I didn't think so.  I never meant everyone on this forum was being hypocritical.  I was speaking about adults in general who talk about no sex until marriage yet the majority of adults do have sex before marriage.   So how are kids supposed to listen to them when they see the adults doing exactly the opposite of what they want their kids to do?

I'm afraid this subject has imflammed people to the point they're reading one thing and interpreting it as something else.  Oh, and no way in the world do I advocate teenagers engaging in sexual contact with adults.

I'll say it again.  Teenagers are being sexually active.  I didn't say they need to go and get sexually active.  I was pointing out that they are doing that already and they will continue, regardless of what we say.   And they need whatever information they can get from adults so they'll be safer.

for the kids to download porn? As a parent, I certainly don't want to waste my money on this kind of rubbish or have my kids wasting time on it. Some of this stuff is seriously sick eg. people doing it with animals, torture and child abuse so I don't think kids should have open slather on watching it. As Lili Marlene said, the world would be far better off without this cr@p.

I agree that you can't stop kids from experimenting with sex but don't think it should be encouraged as much as it is now. It's one thing to be physically mature enough to have sex (often kids are going through puberty much earlier than in previous generations) and quite another to have the emotional maturity to deal with a relationship with another person.

What happens if there is an unplanned pregnancy or a disease is caught? Gay people can catch diseases even though pregnancy is not an issue.
I don't believe in abortion so have told my girls if they get pregnant I will help out with looking after the baby so they can finish their schooling.

I helped out when my sister fell pregnant at 15.
I guess my concern was not only about kids being exposed to noxious images on the net but also about parents being lumbered with the cost.
Some parents have got huge phone bills and then found their teenager has been going onto all these "adult" sites. I believe you can get a bar put on your phone to prevent this.

Ok… so let me get this straight.
Because you are ignorant and unaware of the differences between auditory sequential thinking and visual spatial thinking, and because there is a community of people who are intelligent and are aware of the differences between auditory sequential thinking and visual spatial thinking (possibly because the community is for those with Asperger’s Syndrome, which has a high rate of visual spatial thinkers), you have decided that all members of this community are f*******s, a*****s and *** morons who are mentally deficient?

You seem to find the idea of different ways of thinking to be quite strange and dramatic. Need I point out that most mentally competent people over the age of about six appear to be able to comprehend that other human beings might think differently to them? Your lack of knowledge in the area of thought processing is a fascinating illustration of your own ignorance, which is amusing at best and pathetic at worst, not to mention extremely judgemental.

And just for the record: it is quite common for visual thinkers to think in written words. There is a higher liklihood that the individual suffered from chronic ear infections as a child than that the person is an internet junkie, although I suppose that it must be hard to comprehend that there are people out there that don’t spend every second of the day creating drama out of academia and broadcasting it on the world wide web…

I wonder if someone from AFF is Purrrgle....

hahahahah, go purrrgle!
