I finished school, not long ago, and I want a job. Ok, not everyone can snap their fingers and 1-2-3, I got myself a job.

Well, basically, I am going to college in September. Right now, I'm waiting if I got accepted to the one that I want to go to. Yesterday, I went to my second choice college, and they have a learning support room there. Hopefully, they can help me out when things get tough.

Anyway, I would like to get a part-time job. preferably at the journalism working force. I know it doesn't sound possible or 'realistic' (as my mother puts it) but I love writing. And I like writing faux news articles. Just for practise.

I know it's kind of the wrong website to ask for jobs but I need some tips. And maybe some tips on how to come out to my employer that I have AS.

That's all, and thanks in advance.
well, perhaps you could write a few articles for us.

that way, when you go to apply for a job, you can say, "I wrote articles for a disability group" or what have you.

every little helps...

If you are looking to go into journalism, perhaps you might like to write a series of 500 word articles on:
. being the age that you are
. being aspie
. finishing school
. liking to write
. applying to college
. supports that you *need* , and those you would like
. looking for part-time work
. your dream job
. your concerns about 'coming out'.

They would make a good portfolio to show the Editor or whomever you decide to submit your application to.

I wouldn't tell the employer about AS unless there is a problem with other employees teasing or bullying or communication problem.

That is a very good idea...
I also think that pointing out a couple modifications that would make you more content with your job - like anyone might mention - "I give and expect to receive respect from others, I need to eat on time - stuff like that (employers want happy employees - if they want to hire you they also want to keep you)  but agree to avoid starting out and talking about a syndrome etc., talk to eadh individual issue as they may come up, but in my opinion for jobs don't mentione what they would consider a disability.. at least not right away.

Good idea; I'm going to jot down your bullet points down on a piece of paper. Don't worry, I'll hold on to it just in case I want to practise some journalism!

Even if I get a part time job, and the job might ask for a reference from my last work. Of course, they'll know about my AS, etc.
