I was looking on you tube lately and I found this two-part documentary about a teenager called Jack, who is diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. The problem I have is that I’m 100% sure that he doesn’t have Aspergers. Instead it might be ADHD and bipolar/manic depression. Another concern is that Jack is a rude and obnoxious kid, so really he is giving us a bad name.

This had really pissed me off because many Emos are using the diagnosis to behave like right bastards and get sympathy from the girls. To add to insult many Emo exclude real Aspies from their peer groups. I’m not making stupid generalisations, these assumptions I made are based on the many experiences from me and many Aspies on the internet I know with our encounters with Aspies. Also I don’t have anything against Emos in general, I’m just getting sick of them being seen as some sort of superior subgroup of Aspies.
Emo = Goth lite.
Emos are probably more annoying than chavs/neds. At least with the latter you know what you're getting; the former tend to be of the squealing, annoying variety that can honestly force a girl to facepalm to the moon.
I just watched the first one all the way through and feel like throwing up, tbh.  What an abnoxious, foul-mouthed, self-absessed spoiled brat!!!!

No way he's aspie!!!

He's taking the piss, surely!  If not out of the people watching this on Youtube, then certainly out of his poor mother!  How, why does she let her son speak to her like that!   AAAAAAAARGH!!!!

Sorry, but my hands were itching to skelp him!
no, Emos are no worse than Goths, or Grungers, or Aspies; but it depends on the subject in question.

just like with us, you get arseholes and you get decent people.
what an obnoxious little C*&! Tongue

if he has aspergers then I can fly!!

No offence but you must not get out much if you've never heard of emos, as its been a massive scene for around 5 years, in the UK and USA (unfortunately).
Its followers listen to bland mainstream rock bands with zero talent.
I've never heard of gen-x-ers though whatever that means to be honest.

I have never heard of emos until I visited this forum, but you have never heard of GenXers!  OMG!  That was the grunge and goth bands of the 90's.  They are now on to Generation Y-ers.

However, some people do try to get into a subculture by reading the manual. Jack looks like he's being miserable all the time because he thinks that's what you have to do in order to be an emo. It's no different to some twonk thinking that they can't be a hippy unless they smoke weed, or can't be a goth unless they sound like Wednesday Adams.

excuse me, whilst I facepalm into oblivion.

I class myself as a metalhead; most people look at me and see goth, however (large, spikey platform boots, long hair, pale monitor tan, black clothes, spikes from my knuckles to my elbow, a kneelength coat, spiked, cinched rather tightly at the waist (I can get my hands around my waist) and sometimes a collar),

If I am a goth, I am not the stereotypical one.
and I dont fit the stereotype for metalheadness either.

I'm just...me.

yes, I get abuse for it, but *** 'em.
I've been attacked for it, but I usually come out better; and chavs are cowards on their own.

a facepalm?

those are facepalms Big Grin
wha-

NO! I wasnt facepalm at you!

I was facepalming at the people who seem to find a manual!

Oops, sorry.

It looks like I've started thinking people are talking to me.

*facepalms again, before crawling into a hole in the wall.*

I do have to say, that I did facepalm when I read that post though Tongue

dont worry, everyone makes mistakes...

Emo doesn't = emotional, it stands for emotive hardcore which is a type of music. The music used to consist of screaming with emotional lyrics, now it has become just guys singing in high pitch voices e.g Fall Out Boy.

You can spot an emo by their hair covering half their face, usually black hair and tight trousers.

Emo is so much better than chavs. Emos might scream but they don't stab you. Also emos don't encourage ignorance like chavs do.

I'm not fond of emos, but I prefure it much more to chavs.

Facepalms all round then! Big Grin

So what's the collective noun for facepalms?  A fistful?  A manual, even? Tongue

I know, I missed whatever posts he made too.

must have been an obvious troll Big Grin
God, I remember a few years ago, every new aspie I met would just be a completely unique person, and I could never classify any of the aspies I knew into any subculture. Nowadays, all the aspie kids I meet are emos. All of them. I don't know what the hell is going on. I don't know any aspie emos my age or older, but almost all the ones youger than me are total emos.

Now, note, I don't use emo to mean a fan om emo alterna-rock. I listen to Bright Eyes now and then. They're okay. Early emo music didn't all suck. I'm talking about this new breed of emo pop-punk crap. The kind with the girls who all wear the striped pants, the fishnet, the plaid, the black leather, and studded belts, and have the emover, who fill out myspace surveys to get attention by talking about how sad they are about their so-called 'relationships', who listen to My Chemical Romance, The Day's Grace, Panic at the Disco (would have been good if they'd focused on their experimenta music thing instead of on going emo), and Green Day (they are the reason Green Day is even less good now than it was before), and who complain about how everybody is so conformist, not realizing that everything they do, from the clothes they wear, the music they listen to, ad the films they ike to their relationship problems, lousy poetry, happy-morbid anime sketches, and their obsession with being 'random' even when their 'randomness' is entirely predictable, is completely conforming to their subsocietal standards.

I hate how the emos are starting to get this obsession with mental disorders. They all pretend to have one, and make stupid hints about pills and psych wards, and then grin as if they're 'crazy'. I do take pills. I've been in a psych ward. It's not fun. If emo kids actually did have atypical neurotypes, they'd have a real reason to be depressed. People with atypical neurotypes get treated like crap. The emos think they've got it tough? They don't really know what it's like to be a social outcast. They like to pretend they do. They do not.

I culd go about the miriad reaons I hate emo. I will not. Suffice to say that although they think they are nonconformist loners, they are really extremely self-conscious, very predictable, and obsessed with social standing. In other words, they suck.
