Me too.  Anesthesia is one of my biggest fears - and working around it all the time now at the vet clinic, my fears of it have gotten worse, not better, because I see just how easily it can be screwed up or cause problems even if everything is "perfect."  That's why I still have my wisdom teeth despite the fact they're impacted and have cavities.  They don't hurt, so I don't see the point in getting them out.

I seem to be very hyposensitive to pain. And when it is bad enough to use painkillers, I use half of a Tylenol and I'm good for several hours. I never can see why people pop 8-10 Tylenol for a headache...Rolleyes

The pain that hurts worst is burns.  I -hate- burns, seems as if that's one thing that I'm maybe slightly hypersensitive to.  And painkillers don't work at all for burns, at least not for me.

I sympathise. Its amazing how much pain a tiny little nerve in a tooth causes. For myself, I had to ignore one for a while due to no money and a non functioning public health system.

The pain starts at the tooth, through the jaw, up through the facial cavities (nasal) and I even had an earache. Whole lot disappeared in a day or so upon extraction. Was beyond root canal therapy.

I used to gargle a lot of soluble aspirin for the pain. It worked well.
