I know that some autie kids really love Thomas the Tank Engine (I did as a kid too - do do do doooo do dooooooooo) and I saw an ad on TV for a new Thomasland today.

Its at Drayton Manor in the UK; I just thought I'd make people aware of it if they have kids into Thomas. As I know I'd have loved it when I was but a young Aspie....
It always kind of freaked me out.

I guess I just don't like anthropomorphic train engines.  I prefer them to be shiny, steam powered, and ... uh, well, spinning Smile (I'm kind of a steam nut.  Mostly stationary engines, though)

That, and Steven King.  (Gunslinger series, I forget exactly which one.  I think it was the one right after the drawing of the three)
There is also a Thomas the Tank section at Six Flags in Massachusetts, USA.  My kids loved it! Its only a few rides though.
There is an old fashioned train - thomas the tank engine - train station in Pennsylvania - only open a couple months of the year I think.  I've never gotten there...
My son with Thomas at Bo'ness last year! Smile

You can just make out Percy in the background!
Marcia,
Is this from the "day out with thomas" where you get to ride the train pulled by Thomas? My sons went to that event. Just curious.

Hi Breeze!  Yes, they do two Thomas Weekends a year at Bo'ness, which are extremely popular - lots and lots of small boys!  To be honest, the actual going on the train is, I think, a bit of a letdown because when you're on the train you can't see Thomas!

Ooh! I would've gone absolutely berzerk (in a good way!) if I'd had the opportunity to meet Thomas the tank engine when I was little! I used to have some toys and stickers!
Anthropomorphic trains and other vehicles are kind of creepy to me.
Oh, does this bring me back into my childhood.
When I was kid, there was a park in my home town with a big old black train. We kids used to like climbing over and around it and some even set a couple of fires in the boiler to roast nuts. I think a Thomas Theme park would be a great addition to any town or city.
I saw a bit of that cartoon for the first time recently. I thought it was rather creepy.  But, it isn't something I grew up with.  Teletubbies also weird me out.
