ddi anybody see the intreview with ths aspies guy on letterman last night. i missed the fist half. it sees tje guy is really good with numbers and will b ein a documatry vc alled brain man.
I got the same info on my second visit to Letterman's website. I have heard of this fellow before. The guy who wasted his time memorizing 22,514 digits of Pi. Like it makes any scientific sense at all to know that many.
It saddens me to see guys like this get exploited. He doesn't seem to have anything going other than be trotted out like a circus freak. Been there, done that. I am really glad that making a living became more important to me than showing off.
Hopefully, he will have a good agent/lawyer and get something out of this publicity. It usually doesn't work that way. Leslie Lemke, Stephen Wiltshire, Kim Peek etc. There is already a Hall of Fame of used/abused savants. I hope this guy doesn't wind up there.

Would any of them join AFF? If we can get our act together, one day we would be able to retain lawyers on their behalf and others like them
I doubt if any of them are on the net at all. Since the parents are involved in the exploitation, it would be a tough battle anyway.

ASMAN: Parents and Parents LOL
Ask me if I give a damn.
I'll settle for makeing them miserable for the rest of their lives.
Not all parents are that way. But I am glad that my father didn't let my mom exploit my savant gifts. Once they surfaced, she was all for showing me off for her benefit. My dad understood how I felt.

I did some more research on the "Brian Man." I am not worried about him. He sounds like he can avoid the exploitation that typically befalls public savants. He lives with a partner, is self-employed at home and is twenty six.
