Any flower children can add to this? I was born too late to remember that generation, all I know about the 60s I learned from TV.
While I do not qualify as a flower child, I qualify as a child of a flower child and UGH! You do not want that!
Oh and the Haight, was then, and is now, filthy and nasty. Drugs and smelly homeless people.
OK, I totally admit I was not there then. Get a movie called "Following Sean." Might illuminate some of where my opinion originates. My parents were/are hippies. It was a torture for their children.
And now, well, I live it every day. The Haight is no Utopia.
But THE IDEA, GuessWho, the IDEA is sound!
a simple list like;
Pros;
Warm
Coastal Access
Constant, unidirectional wind
flat, but not prone to flooding
Cons:
Made up
not real
and so on.
also, could people start looking into islands and large swathes of land...?
¬_¬ Do I have to turn the Baleful Eye of +15 damage to Racism on you les...?
I've been on the receiving end of that kind of hatred and ostracising.
I wish it on nobody.
At a point, it's too hot for most activities. At another point, it's too cold for modern equipment to function. With enough of an incentive, you can assemble enough resources to live anywhere on the planet, the cost just goes up at the extremes.
Examples:
Oil platforms in the ocean
Oil wells in the desert
Mines in the tropics
Research stations in the polar regions
Airbases and radar stations in Greenland
However, Aspergia would have to be very wealthy to afford the amount of equipment and supplies to use any of those places. So...we can eliminate entire regions of the planet with the following calculation:
The real variable is money.
For various reasons, I think our location will be a balance of cost and existing population density. The more resources we have, the wider of a climatic "range" we can use. Also, the more resources we have, the easier it would be to buy sufficient land in a more hospitable location for autfinity.
Can anyone else follow this explanation?
And there is the $64,000,000 question. What industries would be best in an aspie society, or, what industries would provide the funding for an aspie society.
I'm going with the computer software industry, it seems to be our stronghold.
That woud be an excellent idea for a aspie community. How do you suggest a small aspie community in a major urban area would be organized?
I have created a spin-off thread here:

Singapore and Monaco are both Nations[i], with all the powers of a sovereign state. Admittedly, Monaco has delegated some powers to France, but they are still considered a sovereign state. One of the main arguements used against the idea of Aspergia is that full sovereignity would be inpractical or impossible.
