Well, sadly I'm now back home in the UK, having spent 19 wonderful days with my fiancee Maria!

Maria was very emotional in the taxi on the last night, and also the night before - she was so happy to have been with me, she never wanted me to go home, and she also accepted my marriage proposal in front of her family!

On the last day, she cheered me up with a gorgeous scrapbook of photos, cuttings and comments, an 'I Love You' cushion and also one of her t-shirts so I won't feel lonely when I sleep. I promised her that I will be back next year, and I shall keep that promise!

I also had loads of fun with her family and friends and her parents were such wonderful hosts, showing me the sights and sounds and cokking some really wonderful local dishes!

Here's the photo of us that was taken by her brother Nelvin:

Way too smug looking ;p
Maria is beautiful, congratz
What is she, from Spain?  She looks it.

I was at my lady's birthday last weekend.  I sent her a poem along with effervescent bath balls, a sleep mask, a scented candle, and several feminine soaps, she liked them.

The poem was based on two vivid set of dreams I had April 25 based on her, and ended with the simple rhyme, Am I Ready to Go Steady?

She sent back a poem with "That's why I'm asking you to stay" and "I know I will always be a Princess to you" (she wore a tiara to the birthday party).  It had me wound up like the Energizer bunny until I checked the CC: list of the email and noticed the Hallmark E-card was also addressed to the other attendees as well.

Well, it doesn't mean she doesn't think I am ready to go steady.  It just means I am considered part of the family (along with aunts, her mom, and various friends in attendance), which is a good start anyway.
Sweet! Heartiest congratulations to you, Sir.

She's a beautiful girl.  You're both very lucky and I hope you make a wonderful life together.  Congratulations - you sly electric dragon you.  Big Grin
Thank you everyone - it wasn't just her beauty that caught my eye, but her personality too! Smile

GuessWho, she's from Midsayap, Cotabato - a small province north of Davao in the Philippines.
You make a lovely couple!
Her parents absolutely adore me - they were cautious at first because she's been treated so badly by some of her exes, but they warmed to me quickly.

I saw my ex An yesterday and showed her the photo - she was so jealous, she screamed at me and called her a mail order bride!!

Any advice for those of us who can't afford a trip to the Philippines?
