I have a wireless mouse and it's making the pointer on my screen go crazy. It is wiggling and spazzing all over the place. I think a virus jumped into my computer (not from here). I'm using McAfee to scan my computer. I hope it will fix the problem. But if it doesn't find the problem and get rid of it, what will I do?
1)Check there is nothing on the lens. look for bits of hair.
2) check the surface you are using it on.
3) uninstall and re-install the drivers.
4) get up to date drivers
5)check the batteries
6)check that nothing could be interfering with the signal.
personally, I dont like wireless mice, because they just are not as quick or reliable as wired ones. that said, I use Razer mice, so

aye, tis usually the way
you fiddle with stuff on the back plate for half an hour, then realise, oh, its not turned on XD
My wired mouse spazzes out sometimes (ususally for like one or two seconds for every hour or so of use), but it's really just a minor annoyance than anything. My mouse is very cheap, though; it only cost me a few dollars at the computer store. You get what you pay for... Usually.
regarding getting what you pay for...
this is a 4000dpi mouse. that means, to move it across a screen at a resolution of 2040*whatever, I move the mouse half an inch.its *obviously* programmable, though. (the average mouse is 400dpi)
it has nine buttons, teflon feet, shielded, armoured cable, onboard memory, I can set those nine buttons up to do...near anything.
and the price?
a "mere" £50.
(Razer Lachesis)
Meh... I'm thrifty.

yeah, its a bit much to pay for a mouse, unless you are a gamer or graphic designer, or unless you need pinpoint accuracy all the time, every time.
but, meh. I had a Copperhead (2000dpi) before, but I modded it and lost the warranty; then the damn cable broke =/
to be honest, I don't use it at 4000dpi, I use it at 3600.
really bloody long warranties for the win ^_^
What sort of mods can you do on a mouse? I've never heard of that before...
these ones?
well, Razer sold a kit for the Copperhead, which allowed you to replace the top half of the mouse, and do put weights inside it.
also, it has a little plastic runner on the inside, which carries a blue light (or a red, or a green; depends on which one you buy). however, it was possible to replace the light source with a differently coloured one.
for example;
Mod vid
when the mouse pulses blue at 0:26, thats what the Copperhead and Lachesis do by default. that mouse there, the Krait, is usually a really ugly orange colour.
Heh... I never even realized there was such a "subculture" surrounding computer mice. That Krait with the different colors is pretty cool, though.
well, its not really a subculture, its really a part of the whole "Case Modding" scene.
but damn, that Krait was impressive.
oh, and I'm guessing you've spotted the pattern with the names?

Yeah, those two are named after venomous snakes I noticed... Copperheads and Kraits are actually about as different as two snakes can get, however; one's an elapid while the other is a pit viper. Unless they named it after the Aussie Copperhead, which is also an elapid.
the Lachesis is also a pit viper.the largest one, if memory serves.
other names include;
Boomslang
Diamondback
Deathadder
I think the idea is, "our mice eat your mice".
all their keyboards are named after spiders (Tarantula, Lycosa,Reclusa), the audio stuff after predatory fish (Mako, Barracuda) and so and and so forth
Haha, I guess no one informed them that Boomslangs feed almost exclusively on other reptiles.
Ironically, it was the Boomslang that almost killed off the company
