For those of you that do not know about Beltane, here is a bit of information.

(And a short little bit for those of you that do not want to read the whole thing)
Modern pagans celebrate Beltane as a festival of reawakening spring, of fertility, of the renewal of the lifeforce, of creativity, or rebirth, of love and sexuality, or birth and regeneration.

"But they are... naked!"
"Well, naturally, it's far too dangerous to jumo through the fire with your clothes on!"
--Lord Summerisle explaining Beltane to Sergeant Howie in the 1973 film "The Wicker Man"
*rakes the ash pit, arranges some soul stones*

You'd like the cultures in the Morrowind game love, very old world, very pagan Tongue

Desert, snow and ice, swamp, temperate :p
eek, just clicked on it and re-rememberd that today is ascension thursday - a holy day for me. I'll check it out tomorrow.  Happy beltane anyway!
For me, it's the Fifth day of Bright Week, which began on Easter, April 27.
The Valborg Mass was yesterday; last day of April. They're lighting bonfires. That Valborg was the daughter of an Anglo Saxan king and lived in the 8th century.

Happy Beltane!!!

(I suspect it's not pronounced the way it is spelled???)

The wonders of the pagan, neopagan, etc. world is that nothing is spelled in only one way, LOL.  I have always pronounced it the way it is spelled, but then again, I am a British Traditional Wiccan trained Priestess (retired) who now just fuddles around with the family.  I suspect I say half the things wrong.  Hopefully the Lord and the Lady understand.  Wink

Happy Beltane, i'm also pagan Smile
Happy Beltane!

Btw, I've always pronounced it the way it's spelled..
Thank you, and you.
