I don't know how to convey in type the open-mouthed, incredulous intake of breath I took halfway through this......   Tomorrow I'll have a bruise on my chin where it hit the table...

No words.....
Well, both, but it was the second one which caused my jaw to drop onto the table!  And produced the unreproducable in type, sound effect!
Whoa.

*too stunned to think*

*recovers (sorta)*

What surprises me is that I was surprised by this.

Uck. I know. It's the kind of thing that makes my slap my hand over my forehead (much like Stan is seen to do in South Park, anyone who watches that). I wish there were an emoticon for that. It just conveys a whole lot of this "WTF I can't believe you people are in the same country as me and yet I can which is really pathetic?!"

Something like this?

These, too:

Honestly, can't we all just get along.

BTW, well said, earthmonkey.

In case anyone is wondering, these are not intended to be the least bit funny.

Vote Obama. Seriously.
Sad thing is, that one bigoted person is like a LOT of people in the US.  Many people, when offered a person of color, a woman, or a "White Veteran War Prisoner Republican" they will choose the latter.  Whether I like it or not, I would guess that our next President is McCain.

Where was that crying smiley icon again?
Oh, and if ONLY the two Democrats would run together, I think they would win.  That seriously defies the logic of my last post, but I can hope, can't I?
I have been waiting to use this...
also this;

and this is about the first post;

I grew up in a rural area and am a bit of a hick, and I have to problem with what Obama said. The corporate media took his comment out of context to make him fit the "Liberal Elitist" propaganda meme the Republicans have cultivated for at least 30 years.
My family and I originated in the woodlands of Pennsylvania ourselves. I can tell you first hand that Barack Obama's comments do have some truth to them. The rural commuities do tend to be isolated, and insolar. The residents tend to distrust/dislike outsiders. They generaly are known to be superstitious, and fear potential witchcraft. They also keep firearms, to protect themselves from predators, human as well as animal. However, for the most part, they are also law abiding. They pay for hunting/driving liscences, and have there cars/guns registered as well, as required by law. Pennsylvanians certainly can seem different from the rest of the country, but they are not particularly dangerous. Especialy not anabaptist peace churches, like the Amish.
I voted for Sen. Barack Obama, in the Primary. And I will be voting for him in the Presidential election as well.
My date (I don't say gf yet) sent a fwded email about Obama efforts in North Carolina.  I suggested Obama efforts in West Virginia as their primary is soon and WV is closer by.
As an alum of Shepherd University in Shepherdstown (across the Potomac from Sharpsburg MD, not far from Antietam battlefield and Hagerstown) I'd be right at home.  I'd also be right at home in Martinsburg because I stayed close to the Uni for a number of years post graduation.

Martinsburg is good for Washington commuters.  We have a commuter train for early birds (5:30 and 6:30 into Union Station at 7:30 and 8:30), cost of living is low, there is a mountain range (Braddock Mountain, Frederick/Washington County MD) between it and Washington if Washington were nuked, etc., wind blows the other way, etc.  I've even dreamed of the Washington Metro Red Line going out to West Virginia.  Yeah, dream on Guess Who.  You've have to sleep as long as Buck Rogers for that to happen.
Oh my God.  The poor people are screwed.
The Republicans don't care about me, but at least I can rest easy they care about my money.
