I wasn't too sure which forum to put this in as it's education with a difference.
I haven't posted for a while because I've been really busy on a teacher training course. I have virtually no free time during term time but as it's the holidays thought I'd better try and increase my post count.
I was offered, and I accepted, my first teaching post a couple of weeks ago. So from September I will be a teacher of mathematics at a comprehensive school in Chippenham, Wiltshire. I will be teaching 11 to 18 year olds. The interview went really well. I had to teach a lesson (Pythagoras Theorem to 12/13 year olds), have an informal chat with two members of staff and a formal interview with 3 members of staff (headteacher, deputy head and head of maths). I was pleasantly suprised about how it all went as usually I just go into 'overdrive mode' for interviews.
When they told me they'd like to offer me the post I must have stopped breathing for a few seconds. Absolutely shocked I was, especially since the teachers who taught me said that I would never get a job standing up in front of people.

One question that I'd like to know the answer to is:
Are there any other aspie teachers out there in cyberspace?
