They are just looking for a small group of people that's as homogeneous as possible to look for hereditary aspects of autism. Nothing else.

Did the writer really have to describe autism as "a disorder involving abnormal introversion and egocentricity?" Rolleyes
I might be part Jewish. Here are the ethnicities I know for sure: Scottish, Irish, French, English, Mexican, and German. I am half Cajun so there might be some Native American mixed in there too (they married Indians while they were still living in Canada).
How do you know what your ethnic origin is beyond a few generations or a few hundred years? Each of us could, in theory, trace our ancestry back eternally!
My grandfather is obsessed with genealogy, so he's traced my family tree back to the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Of course, if we could trace our ancestors back many tens of thousands of years, we would find that they were all living in Africa.

I've got a few genealogy buffs in my family, too, which is why I can rattle off: Irish, English, Polish, German, Dutch, Viking, French, Chinese and Aboriginal Australian.  Bitzer much?
Oh, so you have added a poll ...
btw, questions about ethnic origin are a no-no in Germany since the end of WW II.
I don't know why the poll doesn't include anything about being Jewish. It seems like "Ashkenazi Jew" should be an option.

I wonder if language plays a big part in the results, too... there are probably loads of Italian Aspies, but they're over on an Italian language Aspie forum somewhere.  Ditto the Middle Eastern Aspies and the Asian Aspies.

Then, there'll be populations - southeast Asian and Indigenous Australian, for argument's sake - who are more likely to have socioeconomic barriers to both getting internet access to take part in fora like these, and getting diagnosed in the first place.
Slav ere ;p
Yer missed out an 'e' by the way ian TongueBig GrinTongueBig Grin

Just kidding of course, now get back to work!

All into BDSM on this forum.
My descent according to my dad? I'm told German and Boer.

But people tell me I have odd, foreign features...Slavic or something.
German? that explains it all=D
