I was watching part of something on CNN today (April 2, 2008) called "We Have Autism".  It was mostly about kids and schools for kids with autism.  It was mostly positive but I didn't like some of the sponsors at the end (namely Autism Squawks)

Did anyone see the whole programme?

no.

I didn't catch it all, but they're showing it again this weekend.
I saw something else on CNN today, still the 2nd, with them talking about a potential link of autism and vaccines. I am not sure if it was the same program though. I was only able to catch bits and pieces between working. the guests did leave out some information though.
Not on the same subject, but on Larry King's site you can vote as to whether or not vaccines causes autism.
here's some of the lowlights of cnn's coverage: http://stopthinkautism.blogspot.com/2008...erage.html

if you didn't know better, you would think they are talking about aids or childhood cancer.
Yuk. Even kids with cancer are portrayed as having more hope than that. Childhood cancer is, actually, surprisingly treatable nowadays--it's not anywhere near a death sentence--but i think we can agree that we'd much rather have autism than cancer... y'know, the whole "you could die" thing really puts a damper on my making my 26th afghan. (yeah, crochet special interest!)
