I'm sure my apartment management is very customer focused and reasonable but it is wearing my patience!

1.  Pest control: Battle of the Kitchen, March 12 to 30, 2008

A bug spray person can only spray an empty kitchen (cabinets and drawers, right)?

I emptied all cabinets and drawers.  The fragile stuff was hardest to remove: the plastic and metal (pots and pans) were easy to dump into trash bags and move to the living room.  The canned food, utensils, and the countertop appliances (microwave, blender, breadmaker, coffeemaker, mixer, toaster) went to the closet in the bedroom.  Finally, cereal, flour, sugar, coffee, either went in the refrigerator or in the bedroom.

And the cat went to the vet, simply to sit out the day somewhere safe.

They sprayed Thursday.

Starting Sunday, I wet wiped the cabinets and drawers comprehensively, wearing gloves.  I do not know if I was breathing toxic levels of vapors.  I tossed out the wet wipes and Rubbermaid gloves.

Thursday, I picked up self-adhesive shelf-liner.   Wow, what fun!  I finally had all the shelves and drawer surfaces papered as an additional precaution in another week.  Meanwhile, I progressively started migrating items back to the shelves and drawers.

Finally, I moved canned goods to the last cabinet, appliances to the countertop, wraps to the drawers, dish towels and pot holders to other drawers, and was done on March 30.

Part 2, next, Move It!
Pt. 2 Move Your Fat Ass, And Your Fat Cat Too!

I loved my 5.5 years at my address but now I no longer have the option to renew for a year lease.  They need to renovate all units.  Yes, mine.  I get out October 1 so they can renovate it by Christmas, they will find another (renovated) unit on the block for me to move to.

I don't freakin' care if I move around the corner.  It is still a move and I am moving it!   (Maybe if I get in shape it won't be a torture)
Finally a reason to do what I should have done!

I don't like change basically.   I am an Aspie.  You understand, you're Aspies too.
Hope it goes well for you - you still have plenty of time to prepare Chris.
This sounds like someone I know--public health people discovered some sort of deadly fungus growing in her house, so they kicked her out and sealed everything in the house up. In the process, they trapped two of her cats in a room, so she then had to tear down all the plastic sealing to rescue them.
