I wonder if women, on average, aren't more civilized than men.  Perhaps lesbianism is for the best, privately thinking.
I mean, either men commit most of the violent crime or we punish men far more often.  Yes, mothers can kill children and lesbians can abuse one another, but it is far less heard of than men killing children or men abusing wives and girlfriends.
Some women like anal sex (dare I say, Ripley's Believe It or Not)

I hope Max is OK, too.

Methinks God made the rules too inflexible for the non-heterosexuals amongst us.  If you're not a Christian what you think of what God thinks doesn't matter, but I think homosexual believers need to decide where they stand, especially as they cannot negotiate with a book that was written long before any of us were born.

I've read Leviticus and it was written for a lawyer, it's just too damn specific.

Position statement: I can make it and leave it alone:

I believe there is some power and mysticism to the Holy Spirit, but the religion does not tolerate homosexual sexual activity.  I wish Christianity had a provision for gay marriage, too, because I think it is only even handed and just to let other people have the same thing we Christians take for granted.  The Bible is too well written however, and the holy book, and therefore the issue, is non negotiable.  Any sex outside of or before marriage is a mistake, something to try to talk someone out of, not a sin to laugh at.  The entire non-sexual gay rights agenda is probably valid and Christian, and prejudice or discrimination or abusive behavior is not Christian love.
I've read about deflowering in anthropology- it is a ritual in some cultures.

I think the speculum would be the proper medical instrument to slowly dilate the vagina and break the hymen.  They've had those since the Roman empire.

Some cultures the husband expects to make the bride bleed, bedsheets as proof of virginity... I think there was a Spanish story of brothers going after the man who deprived their sister her virginity and her honor....

I am not sure (Quran?) Mary mother of Jesus claims to be a virgin pregnant and a woman checks her hymen as proof.

That's why many women don't enjoy their first sexual experience. It's rather unfortunate, but easily preventable. All one has to do is either wait for the hymen to disappear on its own, or slowly break it off before having sex.

Some men don't like anal sex either.  It's like, ***, you know.   I would have to get used to vaginal fluid to get over virginity.  The recent ex-virgin should stick to one, uh, sensation, at a time.
"Cum" (don't pardon the pun) to think of it, that book I ordered and read, The Joy of Sex, there is a lot you can do without penetrating.

I will agree with you on that one.
It's wet.  It's warm.  It's strange.  Funny how looking forward to sex and sex is scary.
Is there a lot of it???
Well dad did educate a lot about drugs, scared me literally into avoiding them..... I thought hallucinogenic drugs could come and get you...

I learned much of the facts of life from mom's old books.....

I kind of figured out on my own that homosexuality was a human rights issue around about age 20.  Yes, I was having a grudge match with a Christian.
Dad did briefly cover the benefits of abstinence and risks of disease. responsibilities of fatherhood, if that is what you mean, I thought it was very valid advice.

For a long time it was fear of illness or fatherhood alone that kept me from (insert verb here)

Later on I appreciated being heart broken too, and I have come to appreciate that more and more with age.
CJ, you mean a supportive parent talk on the matter, right?  Kind of like, "If you feel like.... "
I am not sure what difference it would have made, I already figured out that Dad was worried that the faux-Christian-fascists were after homosexuals and quite a few other people (see the do we need the state to protect us from Christian oppression thread)

For homosexuality, the discovery of a genetic cause destroys the idea that it's a choice (the fact that even if one could choose it wouldn't matter anyway is another issue). For autistics, genetic research has much greater danger.

Really, why?  You cannot tell me that an aborted gay child is any better off than an aborted autistic child can you?

Gareth Wrote:
Because homosexuality is now more widely accepted. Homosexuals often face prejudice due to the flawed belief that heterosexuality is "more natural" and that they have chosen a perversion. (Yet it doesn't matter even if it is unnatural - homosexuality harms none).

As for abortion due to prenatal testing - a prenatal test for homosexuality would be just as bad, but that is not the stated purpose of researchers in the field. The stated purpose of genetic researchers working with autism however is "prevention".

In my dealings with many people, they would rather abort than have a gay child, as they think that child is sick.  They think that child is an abomination.  I am not subscribing to this belief, but I could see it happening.

However, I get your point.  The difference in the reasoning for the research is very different.

Raised the same point in #15 and it got criticized.

Oh, you did.  Hm, difference in the mood or something today?

Ivar T Wrote:
Not sure what you're talking about.

You made the same post on #15 and got criticized for it.  There was none going on today.  I possibly misunderstood what you meant.

No harm meant.
