Hi, my name is Bryan, I'm 33, male, and my dx is Aspergers. I actually found this site via discussions on Autism Speaks. I also found Wrong Planet too, but I decided that they're too angry over there. I know Callista from Autism Speaks (come back, we're worried about you!).
Welcome Bryan,
I hope you enjoy your time here.
Welcome.
question; do you view Autism as a part of who you are, or something that you have?
Callista just visits the Autism Speaks forum to get provoked, as far as I know.

I never really thought about it. For most of my life it was a "behavior issue" that made me a "bad kid" that I couldn't help but people insisted I could. So in that sense it's something that I have. That doesn't mean I'm a curebie, although I do support efforts to treat the symptoms of AS, like OCD, ADHD, and seizures (I don't have seizures myself) and I can understand the pain of parents who have lower functioning kids who smear feces and hit and bite and the parents wanting their kids to be functional.

Then Welcome to the forums. you'll fit right in
be prepared for some soul searching, and ignore the little fights going on at the moment- its an unusual occurrence, and I would advise you to keep out of them.
other than that, take a sniff through the Archives, familiarise yourself with the various members, and above all, enjoy =D
Well welcome, even though I'm new here too.
Decided that This would be a good place to also introduce myself too.
Hello, my name is Stephan but online I tend to go by Martin or Marty
Well, I'm 16 and have been diagnosed with AS yesterday. But I also have ADHD + Dyslexia.
And that's about as much as I can think of to tell. Feel free to ask. And if mods feel like this is better in a separate post/on an other section then feel free to do that (no that I'd probably be able to stop it but anyhow).
Welcome Marty!
dont worry about post locations, you'll find that its a common occurrence here, and threads often go off on complete tangents.
I would apply the same question to you;
do you view Autism as a part of who you are, or something that you have?
I'd say part of me. Though I haven't thought a lot about that for AS yet. For ADHD I have and believe it's just a part of me.
Dyslexia is something else and I think it's something I have. As it's more of a disability then something that's you.
And thank you all.

WELCOME!
can I ask you though are you good at art marty?
not being judgemental it's just that a lot of people with dyslexia are very artistic / creative
No, not really. My drawing is crap and the other arts aren't any better.
