Hello fellow Aspies and Auties. I’m Joel Manion and as you know, I’m new to the group. But I agree with this organisation’s ideologies as I’m a strong supporter of Autistic Rights and against that so-called cure for Autism. As I know there has been a strong support for an Autistic state or homeland, but more as a real country. Now let’s be honest, that is very unlikely going to happen, but I think it be possible to create a cybernation like CyberYugoslavia, Aerica and Talossa.
So that’s why I created the Aspergian Zionist Movement, a group on Myspace planning and supporting the idea of creating the cybernation of Aspergia. This country would support the ideologies of AFF, which is the belief that Autism and Asperger Syndrome is a special neurological variation, not a disability, disease or ‘curse’. But the country would support the idea of Neurodiversity, so Neurotypicals would be allowed to become citizens but immigration would be stricter on them.
The best thing about it is that a good friend of mine would help me built the cybernation for the internet. It’s going to be a proper website, not like those hosted by Freeweb. The cybernation would be created around mid-summer but first I have to talk to Edan, the original creator of Aspergia (as a Autism website, not a cybernation) just to avoid getting sued. The Myspace group is in favour for Aspergia as a Federal Republic, probably with a Parliamentary System. But I know the hotbed for Aspergian Nationalists are Aspies for Freedom, so I joined this group to gain recruitments for the Aspergian Zionist Movement for support and contribution, especially for the Aspergian government. So I want you to send your thoughts and opinion for the AZM and suggestions for the cybernation.

Joel,
It's an interesting idea, but how much effect will it have on us in the *real world*?
To have our own 'country' in the real world isn't necessarily the best idea. If curebies want to get rid of us, that would give them what they want, wouldn't it? I *don't* want them to have that 'victory'; I want to see us *accepted* by society as we are, which is the whole *point* of the neurodiversity movement.
To have an *online* 'country' is good from the standpoint of coordinating amongst ourselves, but what will it do for us in the *real world*? Will it help us take care of our daily routine? Will it help us get a job? Will it help put food on the table? If it doesn't improve things for us in real life, I don't know how useful a 'cybercountry' would ultimately be.
And why is this a 'Zionist' movement? I don't really see how Zionism is relevant here; you could adapt their *concept* - basically replacing 'Zionist' with 'Aspergian' - but *calling* it 'Zionist' is probably going to give people the wrong idea...
I'm fairly new here myself, but I'm not sure that I'd call AFF 'Aspergian Nationalists'; there *are* some here who feel that way, yes, but it's not necessarily a view shared by everyone.
You've got a good idea, but is it the *best* way to achieve the goal?

Bob, that’s a very good argument and I have my own opinion on the effect Aspergian citizens have in the ‘real world’?
First, I don’t see an Aspergian Cybernation will lead to a victory for the Curebies. As obvious the majority of Aspies who join the cybernation will be against ‘cure’ for Autism will give awareness to the world on how much the ‘cure’ is unpopular amongst the Autistic Community, especially those living in Australia, Canada, UK, US, etc. I better way to explain it is to use Tibet as a example. Many people in Australia, Europe and North America had campaigned for Tibetan independence from China. So if we get people to be aware of what Aspergia stands for, and got a large population of citizens’, then many NTs would campaign against cure along with many ‘Anti-cure’ Aspies. And I’m sure we will still gain by society as we are, as we will allow Neurotypicals to become citizens. Here is another example I’ll use, Southern Ireland. Today immigrants from Southern Ireland are accepted in British society as the British got over with Southern Ireland gaining independence.
And you concern about what it will do for us in the ‘real world’ Well Aspergia will develop among time. First it will be an online micronation and community with our own government. Then we will create our online gallery, newspapers, TV channels, universities, museum, etc, created by Aspergian Citizens. Then we will set-up gatherings and celebrations in real life. Also Bob you said ‘will it help us get a job?’ Well I decided to let citizens set up online businesses linking up to the cybernation and Aspergia will work along with Aspies for Freedom and Wrong Planet.
And I know that many members are not happy with the word ‘Zionist’ used to describe the creation of an Aspergian homeland. So I changed the name of my organisation and I invented the word for a creation of an Aspergian homeland.
‘Edanism= A movement to created a homeland for Aspergic and Autistic people. Named after Edan, the creator of the online Autistic community of Aspergia.’
So therefore, I’m a Edanist. Also Bob, I’m hadn’t said that everyone on AFF are for the idea of Aspergia.
Full disclosure notice: I'm CEO of this company:
https://www.litesim.com
I'm more than happy to offer free hosting here for a small number of virtual islands.
Do you mind giving screenshots please?
Litesim is still under development, but the client is basically just the standard second life client, so look for screenshots of second life.
That is very impressive Gareth. Can you have it as any environment? (desert, forest, tundra, etc)
Yes, i'll post here when it launches, and again must emphasise the very obvious conflict of interest in anything I post about it here. That is why I will ask that anyone who signs up for a paid account account in future ensures they do so for their own reasons seperate from AFF.
Did you ever contemplate starting up a community in Second Life?
