I found a really good/interesting online screening test for learning disabilities. I like how it says what very specific problems you do and do not have, and then it tells you what strategies you can do to help yourself. I know it's just an online thing, so it's probably not a hundred % accurate, but it's the best I've found.

Online LD screening
You know, I strolled into AFF less than a month ago because of my wee aspie boy.  Saw the references to NTs - checked it out - thought "oh, well, that'll be me then"! Smile  Since then the Aspie Quiz and the AQ test have me with about 50/50 aspie/NT traits and the Aspie quiz results showed I would likely be diagnosed ADD.  I tried the online LD test and it says I've got "severe processing speed concerns", i.e., faster than normal, which can be associated with ADHD!

Mmmm..... No wonder I feel at home here!  Smile
How did you manage to do the test Marcia? I couldn't work out how to answer most of the early questions as they seemed to be either aimed at kids or didn't have a button for the option I wanted. Rolleyes

I know what you mean, Tigger Smile  I'm at uni just now so I thought about that and dumbed it down a bit, well, slightly! Smile  Some I just went for a best fit answer.

Some of the resulting recommendations were very obviously geared to schoolchildren, but some I can use right now!

Bah, online tests!

Seriously, online screening tests for things like apsergers and LD are as good as a source as a 8ball.

I thought processing speed problems--slower than normal--is actually more common among ADHD people.  Most people with ADHD are ADHD-C, that means inattention with occasional hyperactivity.  It's the inattention that causes slower processing speed.

i think they meant the faster processing speeds caused impulse behavoir and hyperactiveness. Not inattention.
