There's probably one of these out there, but after seeing the tongue in cheek "You Know You're An Aspie if..." URL, I thought... why not have an autistic pride thread that can be serious, can be tongue in cheek, can be random, can be as out there as you want. It may also tie in well with the "5 Things Every Aspie Wants You To Know" idea.
I've got an appointment with my lawyer and then a job interview, so I've gotta scoot after I post this. But I'll post when I get back with my own (typically random) insights
However, here's one I was talking about last night:
Autism rocks because... spinning with my arms out as a way of expressing comfort/joy is great... then saying "got a problem? I'm Saturn" to bemused people looking on rocks too.
Splinter Skills.
Nuff said.

Autism rocks because:
I wouldn't 'bee' the obsessed chemhack with the attention to detail that I am otherwise.
Autism rocks due to it being one of the most common "stims" associated with such disorders.
I see so much detail that others don't notice. I feel bad for NTs sometimes becuase I feel like they are just missing so many things that I notice right away!
Autism rocks because it's wonderful to see the beauty in even the smallest, the most underrated, unnoticed, and so-called "ugliest" things, which I do, on a daily basis.
And it rocks to stare at them for hours until I've memorized every tiny facet of their beauty.
Must be why you like me ;p
Autism rocks because if I'm on a bus and I don't have anything to read I'm perfectly content to stare out the window and listen to the sounds of the bus traveling on the road. And if that's not enough, I can always rock, too.

Autism rocks because if I get bored listening in the above situation, I can always just make up a story in my head and entertain myself that way for hours and hours.
Aliengirl, yeah! definately, I see what you mean about details, it reminds me of the scene from Interview with a Vampire, when Lestat makes Louis, and he sees the world for the first time with vampire eyes
*drops from the ceiling from behind Aliengirl and passes the bong*

Subjects seem to display delusional tendencies..possibly related to a schizoid nature... ;]
Autism rocks because I can wear what I like without worrying about weird NT concepts such as 'fashion', 'appropriate' etc.!
Actually, my big sequinned bow ties have been a huge hit in Canberra!

And Autism rocks because my darling hubby and I can spend a perfectly happy evening surfing side by side on our Apple laptops.

We actually own three tellys, but only one is turned on - so that the twins and their friend can play a racing game on the Wii!
Yeah. We have two PCs side by side in our home and my wife I quite often spend our evenings on them.
Autism rocks because we are so observant.
