Anyone who has not been following autism rights will not 'get' some of the video references, but advocates have surely been following and these are powerful visual moments. I really liked the video. Almost enough to purchase a video camera and respond appropriately.

My main point was the urgency of getting our voices out there, and putting out statements of why we believe what we believe and why the issues are so important.
I agree though that there should be more videos directed to general audiences rather than just those who are familiar with the issues. I think when appealing to the general audience, simpler is probably better, at least to start. Most people, when they hear of autistic rights, wonder first what rights are being violated / need protecting as opposed to people generally. Some will think only of services and stigma, which while very important issues, aren't all of them.
I am making plans for future videos, though am limited as I currently don't have a video camera. I intend to save for one and purchase it this summer by hopefully getting a job - also that money would be useful to pay for Autreat, which I plan to attend.
