Seemingly the CPU is actually directly connected to the motherboard or some shit like that, apparently making it virtually impossible to upgrade.

That sounds like the 486 and earlier era. LOL!

In the 2000s, you usually don't have that.

An integrated CPU sounds odd, usually we have CPUs that fit into a socket.

That's an Ill-thought design because you would have to spend more than enough time or money on replacing (RMA'ing)/purchasing a whole new unit. Depending on the price of the unit itself, that turns many off because of the restriction on individualised components.

my specs, let me show you them; (5.9 is the top of the chart)

I've got 2 questions;

1. Is that 8800GTS a G80 or a G92 (512mb)?
2. 32 or 64 bit operating system?

Ignore question 2, I'm blind, ROFL, it was late.

its a G80, and its never worked correctly - random lockups, blue screens.

I've gone back to a 3870.

In that case, is it 320 or 640mb?

320mb

Meh, it's good you got rid of that one. Not only is the GTS with the G80 a load of shit, it's limited in the fact that it only contains 320mb of onboard ram dedicated to the core. I find that insufficient, gamers from now on should always invest in cards with a minimal amount of 512mb. Shaders and complex physics are becoming larger in size with new Engines being made. The CryEngine2 for Crysis is a classic example of software beyond our generation of hardware. The game is based in the year 2020 for a reason, LOL!
