Hello everyone. I am in a History of Cinema class in college. I'm doing a paper on Aspie actors. I was wondering if anyone could name some actors or actresses that they suspected of being Aspies, you don't have to be 100 % accurate. Thanks very much.
There's a thread here about Aspie movie characters, but I don't know of any Aspie actors. That's not to say there isn't any though.
The actress Daryl Hannah was diagnosed borderline autistic as a child.
I read somewhere that the singer and actress Courtney Love was also diagnosed as autistic as a small child, I don't know if that is true or not though.
I think Courtney Love is quoted as saying she probably has Asperger's, not that she was dxed as a child. I spent one-two hrs. on the 'net once hunting that rumor down btw. She is only now stabilizing after years of wild partying, drinking, over-eating, you name it.
"Smells Like Teen Spirit" is one of the few post-1970s songs that I think is pure genius btw (her late husband wrote it).
The comedian Andy Kaufman was an actor on SNL I think. Anyone remember him? He was wild, but I found him ultimately annoying, crass, and unkind.

I've had a good look into this and I don't think there is any actor who has gone on record and said they're an Aspie. Not a one.
Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm not having a go or picking points, I'm just genuinely curious...
If it's for a college paper, why doesn't it have to be accurate?

There's two - or at least, two that are officially on the spectrum: Dan Ackroyd & Darryl Hannah. Both are officially dx'd.
